More on powernaps

I have really been thinking hard about those powernaps.

When I was at Rotorua Bunnings I saw they had “Power Gardens” for sale, are these related to “powernaps”.

I also thought about those “safe” drivers that use “powernaps”. Do they use “powernaps” as they drive and is it safer to use them in conjunction with cruise control.

Could comeone at LTSA or Transit please explain.

There is considerable discussion in the international community on the role of powernaps in all facets of societal endeavours.

The government has launched a 20 million dollar initiative to investigate if there are dangerous side effects to powernaps – for example, relying on cruise control to guide the vehicle whilst having a powernap does not meet the PRSMS (Powernap resource and safety management specification). That study and 20 million dollar grant money was given to a relatively unknown academic after a robust and rigorous selection process – a Dr Peter Davis.

“It’s early days yet” said Dr Davis, but I’m sure a tax on powernaps would help to fund further studies. “I’m concerned hetero-sexuals are taking advantage of this technique and it has been denied to a good many homosexuals and manic depressives. I’m also going to look into rumours that Pharmac have been funding “no-doze” tablets in direct competition to the natural therapies lobby that argue powernaps are a natural alternative.

We should be taxing both industries, using my revolutionary new Guilt Tax measurement criteria.”

The United Nations has reacted by creating a Super Commision Of Powernaps (Super-COP) headed by the Ombudsman’s Undersecretary Tribunal (OUT). The Super-COP-OUT announced that they need up to 200 million dollars to oversee this important commission, but feel hampered by the United States unwillingness to fund this worthy cause.

“The United States is the world’s richest nation, it’s riches made off the back of the poor oil producing countries such as Saudi Arabia, who although have Sheiks with 100 Rolls Royces and Palaces with indoor ski fields, have many poor people living within distance of the gold edged residences, indicating that the United States is once again the cause of the world’s problems” stated Al-Kalil-Hafalid, the CNN executive director and part time volunteer to the United Nations Press Council. “May Allah strike them down” finished the award winning journalist, seen as a model of impartial news reporting and runner up of the 2006 Kim Jong-il award for International Relations.

Still, web sites abound with new “Power Tools” that can help develop “Power Naps – when and where you want”

The police are trialling such tools, which has ired the Green party, who seeks to ban them.

“The Powernaps the police are delivering using the Taser napping tool are instituted without full consent” whinged Green party spokesperson Keith Locke. “And they should be powered by Solar Charged Cells, not mains charged” he added. Russell Norman, co-leader added nothing. Jeanette Fitzsimmons (senior-co-leader) was unavailable for comment, as high winds in the area had encouraged her to go out gorse burning.

Powernaps are here to stay. The LTSA urge you to pull over to the side of the road to conduct a powernap, but warn that the fine for stopping on a busy motorway is $3,456 dollars plus 10% of your salary.

“It’s important you follow the concept, not the practice” said an LTSA spokesperson, through an approved government leak.

“We’ve given the full details to Nicky. See him if you need the details”
