Chainsaw for sale – one criminal owner

I don’t know what is worse, the fact Mike Smith tried to chop down the tree on (N)One Tree Hill and is now trying to profit from the exercise the fact that seven years after the council removed the afflicted tree nothing has replaced it.

Shame on the council, shame on the respective Mayors that have dithered over a replacement, Shame.

Actually, selling the chainsaw on TradeMe where delivery is the norm is a safer bet for Smith than, say, Trade&Exchange, where the buyer would come and collect it. This way, he avoids someone arriving and using it to cut his fucking head off.

The council has, I think, probably wisely decided not to try and plant a replacement tree on this sad folorn hill. When options were being discussed, the objections and political/racial overtones from both sides for and against planting and for/against exotics vs natives showed what a divided society we have become…. so somebody at the council probably decided to just quietly put the problem in a bottom drawer somewhere.
