Labour abandons Auckland

Full Cabinet list – New Zealand, world, sport, business & entertainment news on Stuff.co.nz

According to the full cabinet list Labour has quietly disestablished the Minister for Auckland Issues. Judith has though managed to keep her other portfolio’s but then again she is the Prime Ministers consort.

So one of the major parts of Clark re-shuffle apart from condoning Mallard’s violent behaviour is the abandonment of Auckland and the disestablishment of that portfolio.

Clark signals NZ that It Is OK!

Clark has signalled to New Zealand that IT IS OK for violence if you are a Labour Minister.

Mallard has been dropped to the second row, but so what, he is still a minister, he still has the full salary, and for a bonus for thumping a parliamentary colleague he gets a lighter work load.

This is an outrage and makes a mockery of the governments anti-violence message.

Clark has effectively said the it IS OK.

Cabinet reshuffle timid

Helen Clark has released her new cabinet line up and probably due to the shallow pool of talent is incredibly timid considering they face increasing electoral pressure. The new Cabinet ministers are:

o Steve Chadwick, MP for Rotorua
o Shane Jones, MP
o Maryan Street, MP

Helen Clark said that the three vacancies arise from the impending retirement of Steve Maharey, the decision by Mark Burton to return to the backbench, and the place vacated by David Benson-Pope in July. Burton has seriously been demoted, he was after all the poster boy for the Electoral Finance Bill but has performed so woefully under sustained pressure about that draconian bill he had to go.

Significant reallocations of portfolios are:

  • Michael Cullen takes on the Treaty Negotiations portfolio in addition to finance
  • Phil Goff adds the Corrections portfolio to his responsibilities, showing the ineptitude of Damien O'Connor
  • Annette King takes on the Justice portfolio, and retains Transport and Police, strong performer with an increased load. This also signals Labour's insistance that the EFB be rammed through. I predict it being rammed through under urgency, now that Burton has been replaced.
  • Pete Hodgson becomes Minister for Economic Development, Tertiary Education, and Research Science and Technology, Loses Health as predicted, he must seriously be out of favour.
  • Chris Carter becomes Minister of Education and retains Ethnic Affairs, effectively a slap in the face for his ineptitude and meddling in Conservation.
  • David Cunliffe becomes Minister of Health, and continues his responsibilities in Communications and Information Technology
  • Trevor Mallard becomes Minister of Broadcasting, the Environment, and Labour, and retains SOEs and Associate Finance
  • Ruth Dyson becomes Minister of Social Development and Employment, Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector and retains Senior Citizens and Disability Issues responsibilities
  • Lianne Dalziel takes on Food Safety and Associate Justice in addition to Commerce
  • David Parker adds States Services to his responsibilities
  • Nanaia Mahuta takes on the full Local Government portfolio and Associate Tourism in addition to her other responsibilities
  • Clayton Cosgrove takes on the full Immigration portfolio, Sport and Recreation, Small Business, and responsibility for the Rugby World Cup. He retains Associate Justice and Finance responsibilities. Cosgrove is rewarded for good performances and takes Mallards prized Rugby World Cup responsibilities

The new ministers duties are as follows:

  • Steve Chadwick becomes Minister of Conservation, Women's Affairs, and Associate Health
  • Maryan Street becomes Minister of Housing, Minister for ACC, along with Associate Minister for Economic Development and Associate Tertiary Education
  • Shane Jones becomes Minister for Building and Construction, Associate Minister of Treaty Negotiations, Associate Immigration and Associate Minister of Trade

The ginga Darren Hughes becomes a Minister outside Cabinet with responsibilities as Minister of Statistics, Associate Minister of Social Development and Employment, and Deputy Leader of the House.

Overall a timid response to their increasingly failing ministry. The fact that Mallard has not seriously been affected, certainly not monetrarily shows how out of touch Clark is with the rest of New Zealand of his bully-boy actions. Cullen the scrooge retains Finance leaving Clark with only a last minute replacement option to stave off electoral retribution over his excessive taxation. Labour will go into the election next year with essentially the same old tired faces.

Is Helen over her "Chief Strategist"?

Hodgson faces axe as Health Minister – 31 Oct 2007 – NZ Herald: New Zealand National news

Helen may well be over her Chief Stategist. Pete "Gollum" Hodgson's sychophancy has done him well over the years he has acted as Labour's strategist, but this year the strategies just don't seem to be work as Labour consistently trails National in the polls. Add to that his woeful performance in health and we may well be seeing the end of Gollum.

Lindsay Mitchell to be arrested?

Lindsay Mitchell: My imminent arrest

Well perhaps not. Some nutcase is sending her letters about her imminent arrest for crimes any sane person is unable to ascertain from the documents provided by said nutters.

Whoopsy!

The Herald has used the wrong photo for an article, either that or they are trying to tell us about some previously unknown link between the Tuhoe Terrorists and Ahv bin Robbin, the turban wearing bank robber.

Hillary! Uncensored released tomorrow

Hat Tip RealClearPolitics

Tomorrow a film called Hillary! Uncensored is to be released in the US, here is the trailer for the film (15 minutes). The mainstream media and the Clinton's are trying their best to keep this from public view.

It's that time of the year again

Isn't it ironic that the Hideous Hag is announcing her new cabinet of ghouls on Halloween. I bet she didn't think of that when she selected the date. Anyway since it is that time of the year again here is the handy Whaleoil Halloween mask making instructions again.

Download this image and save it somewhere convenient. I saved it to match A4 dimensions.

Then;

Print the mask

The Photo Printing Wizard in Windows XP will print a photo that is large enough for a mask. Make sure to use thick-or heavy stock-photo paper so your mask is durable.

  1. Open the folder in which you saved your cropped image.
  2. Click Print pictures under Picture Tasks.
  3. In the Photo Printing Wizard, click Next.
  4. Click to select the photo you want to print by making sure that the
box in the corner of the photo has a check mark in it. Be sure that
other photos in your folder do not have a check mark in their
    corner boxes.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select a printer and then click Next.
  7. In Available layouts, under Full Page Prints, click to select Full page photo print.
  8. Click Next to print your mask image.

Let the photo dry thoroughly before assembling the mask.

Assemble the mask

Assembling the mask starts with cutting out the mask. With sharp scissors, carefully cut around the perimeter of the face.

You can assemble your mask in two different ways:

  • If you are going to wear the mask, cut holes for the eyes and
mouth. Punch a hole on each side of the mask and reinforce the holes
with masking tape and small pieces of cardboard for added durability.
Now tie a piece of ribbon to each hole. Use the ribbon to tie the mask
    around your head.
  • If you want to carry the mask, just cut holes for the eyes and then
glue the mask to a paint stir stick or strip of balsa wood so that you
can hold it in front of your face. This is a good option for greeting
trick-or-treaters because you don't have to wear it around the house
    all evening.

You're done! In just a few minutes, you made a personalized mask that will at least get a few shrieks of laughter on Halloween.

Logo or not to Logo that is the question?

Hubbard's little landmine, the logo issue, is getting a little worse. I wwas talking to a wise old man in Auckland political circle who can't believe they tried this one on. He said to me that no organisation does a logo or branding change, none, without having board approval. The board in this instance being the councillors, so some of the remaining ones from the last lot must either know about it or are being disingenuous under the spotlight of inquiry.

Anyway another logo that bears remarkable similarity with the Auckland City logo and the Triangle TV logo is the Navman logo. Ok it is not quite as similar as the Triangle TV logo, but still $25k for one almost identical to Triangle TV  and similar to Navman is having a bit of a lend.

Now speaking of having a bit of a lend I heard Cathy Casey is having a whinge about Banksie moving the Mayor's office to Town Hall. What a bloody cow!!! This socialist wastrel was one of the first to cover her tracks the logo fiasco hit the hews and now she is whinging because the Mayor wants to be 15 steps from Queen Street rather than all uppity like her and her ilk 15 floors and 1500 steps in the ivory towers. The Mayor will be far more accessible to the public at Town Hall than at the ivory towers. I commend the  mayor for his accesibility policy.

Cathy casey and the other socialists who haven't yet worked out that they took a pasting at the election best just shut up and put some effort into un-doing their mis0deeds of the last three years.

Never under-estimate Little Johnny

Howard closes on Labor – New Zealand’s source for World News on Stuff.co.nz

The fat lady is far from singing for Little Johnny. Never ever under-estimate the skill of this Aussie battler. Of course in the midst of an election campaign the heat is coming on KRudd and he is being found wanting.
