Stephen Franks to seek selection for National

Move to National – 01 Dec 2007 – NZ Herald: New Zealand National news

Former ACT Mp Stephen Franks is seeking selection for National in Wellington Central. Great stuff as Stephen certainly has a brain on him and was one of ACT’s major losses at the last election.

Of course it poses a problem for ACT in that they can get ACT by default if enough former ACT MP’s stand for National.

I don’t know much about the relationship between Franks and ACT these days. Is he not on good terms with them? WLG Central is the seat that Heather Roy is standing in. Why does Franks want to do an ACT vs former-ACT?

Franks was always a Tory, unable to distinguish the line between ACT and National.  Thing is, where does he fit in National?  They already have enough white male lawyer types.  And of course he has a propensity to believe he should be in charge.  I predict a leadership challenge within 6 months, from now….not if he is elected an MP :)
