How screwed are Labour?

This screwed.

Key joins his party in No 1 poll position – 03 Mar 2008 – Politics: New Zealand Political News, Analysis and Comment including 2008 election coverage – NZ Herald

Labour’s problem is that they have lost every conceivable segment tht previously supported them. Auckland, Women, Maori…all gone.

Interesting – and cause for a spring in the step of the Blue Team. No wonder Labour MPs are such a negative bunch at the moment. Clark is so desperate to find any positive in the polls. Well there are none – and what is better is that as it becomes more and more certain National will destroy Labour, their supporters and volunetters and importantly “big money” will disappear. No one wants to back a loser and this latest poll confirms that all the other recent polls say- This is going to be a MMP landslide.

MMP landslide or FPP landslide Monty? I guess it’s academic, but if National can maintain enough support to govern alone, Key may be tempted to push for a referendum on the future of MMP – wouldn’t that be fun!

Well in a MMP environment one will only get one chance for a cleanout of elctroal law and to once and for all be rid of the fleas on the tail that wag the dog.

Key will get one shot at this and he need to be decisive. NZ is obviously accepting a FPP type government.
