Government says hydro lake levels not a crisis – New Zealand news on Stuff.co.nz

The government is dreamin’ if they think there isn’t a massive power crisis looming.

I for one won’t be turning of any bloody thing. I am going to use as much power as possible because the best thing for this country is a blackout and then people will see what a bunch of inept bloody morons we have ruining the country.

No doubt when the lights go out all we’ll hear from Clark is “Diddums!”

Hahaha – sucks to be Whaleoil today!

Not only is Whale forced into ridiculous gymnastics to cover up the fact that he didn’t have the faintest clue about the new tidal power generation before teeing off at it, but not it turns out his patron Mr Farrar totally disagrees with him on climate change:

From Kiwiblog this afternoon: “There is little doubt greenhouse gases keep heat in and if nothing else changes will push temperatures up.”

Oops! Now I agreed with a report which said essentially this, and Whale responded calling me “a fuckwit”, “a moron” and “stupid”. Whale, do you have the courage of your convictions to call out DPF in the same way? In your considered view, is he also a moronic, stupid fuckwit for agreeing with the thrust of the IPCC report?

Are you brave enough to call him out as well and hold firmly to your view, no matter who disagrees with you? I think you are not.

  • Whaleoil

Actually when I was having Lunch with DPF today we discussed exactly this along with the tendency of lefty wankers like yourself to misquote. Of course Greenhouse gases keep heat in, that is why they are called that you stupid fucking dimwitted cunt.

    Here is his actual quote.

Now this doesn’t mean that carbon emissions are not a problem. There is little doubt greenhouse gases keep heat in and if nothing else changes will push temperatures up. But the key thing is if nothing else changes, and that is the area where so little is known. How does water vapour for example react to an increase in greenhouse gases.

If it wasn’t for the greenhouse effect which incidentally if we didn’t have the earth would be uninhabitable. Not doesn’t say anywhere that he agrees that humans are contributing to the myth of Global Warming other than to make shit up about how bad it is.

How do you account for the cooling the Earth has experienced since 1998? It sure as fuck isn’t global warming….when are these rising seas going to happen?

The science is far from settled, most of the Climate Science
“evidence” is pure lies and Al Gore is a proven liar on 22 counts in a court of law.

  • Captain Crab

Sheehan you bludger, the Auckland Power Crisis occurred because a sub station had an accident and it happened without warning. Whereas Clark has been warned about this several times and cast scorn upon the possibilty.
Big difference but the lefty you are with no fucking brains explains why you dont get it.
    Go chase some more ambulances.

  • David Coverdale

Oh no, not the naughty names again! “…you stupid fucking dimwitted cunt” – how ever will I cope?

You accuse me of misquoting. Where exactly was the misquote? I see the sentence I quoted right there in the middle of the paragraph you quoted, and entirely in context. So why are you moaning?

And while we’re on that paragraph, where are you on DPF’s claim that “if nothing else changes [greenhouse gases, caused by carbon emissions (context provided by DPF's previous sentence)] will push temperatures up”? I know you disagree with that, but I don’t think you have the stones to call DPF out on it.

Also you say “How do you account for the cooling the Earth has experienced since 1998? It sure as fuck isn’t global warming”

But DPF says: “Many will be aware that global temperatures reached a peak in 1998, and have not risen since then. Now that does not mean there is no global warming…”

There he is saying the fact you cite doesn’t show what you say is “sure as fuck” true – sounds like you guys fundamentally disagree there. Gonna stand up for your view? I thought not – and that makes you DPF’s lickspittle.

  • brendensheehan

I could have sworn the great Auckland power blackout – where the CBD was without electricity for 5 weeks – occurred in 1998: under a National government.

  • Whaleoil

Still sneaking around National Party meetings trying to be a prick Brendan, I heard your last effort turned into ignominious retreat after you were outed as the corpse cuddler.

BTW how you haven’t answered my questions?

  • David Coverdale

Wait, so the oh-so-great Whaleoil plan here is:

    1. Try as hard as you can to ensure a power blackout;
    2. If you succeed, blame somebody else then bitch and moan about it.

That is even worse that your leaders’ inept “New Zealand sux” campaign – that is nothing short of a “fuck New Zealand and New Zealanders”campaign.

And if you do succeed, I’m looking forward to seeing you try and blame Labour for “the drought in both islands.” How, pray, would wise old Whaleoil recommend we avoid such a drought?

Keep going, we really are very impressed.

  • michaels

Oh you fucktards, you really come out of the sewer drain every chance you get don’t you.
If you weren’t so far up Jennettes arse we could maybe use the one source that we have so much of….. COAL!!
Or perhaps, again if you weren’t licking around Sue’s bum we could…. oh I don’t know…. have NUCLEAR!!!

  • David Coverdale

    “fucktards”?! Oh no, ouch.

And great idea by the way, let’s sink all that capital cost into nuclear generation for those few months each decade when we’ve had a drought. It will only be idle 95% of the time. Great way to spend everyone’s money. Well done.

Oh, and if you’d read this morning’s news before spitting the dummy, you would have seen another, better option – tidal power. Cheaper and cleaner than nuclear.

  • Whaleoil

Weasel and Coverdale, you don’t get it, I refuse to use less power because Dear Leader decrees it. You fuckers have had nine years to sort out energy security yet what have you done…well you have prevented our use of coal fired stations based on lies and outright bullshit science, you have prevented the building of New power plants for the same stupid reasons, you are preventing the use of this counties god-given resources in NZ but allow them to be shipped to China where they burn our Coal willy-nilly.

Now you promote an energy source that frankly hasn’t been proven anywhere in the world and will never be implemented in New Zealnd because some little slimy seaweed will have to be saved in the best locations, or a fucking frog is endangered or some such other thing that we should just tread on and be done with in order to secure energy supply.

Energy supply is something that should be secure and plentiful with little or no risk of ever diminishing because of weather factors. That is Nuclear.

Your fucking precious Tidal Generators would be submerged anyway under you apocalyptic belief in Al Gores lies. So how say you now…..Climate Change, water rising, etc or Tidal Generation, can’t be both.

Now fuck off and go play with the brain dead at Labour HQ’s.

Do you mean ‘idle’ like the back-up generation to support Jeanette’s wind-farms will be?

  • David Coverdale

Oh dear Whale, you should learn to actually read news articles ( http://www.stuff.co.nz/4505727a11.html ) before spitting the dummy:

Whaleoil: “Your fucking precious Tidal Generators would be submerged anyway under you apocalyptic belief in Al Gores lies. So how say you now…..Climate Change, water rising, etc or Tidal Generation, can’t be both.”

Me: Actually, the generator in Cook Strait is being placed 95m under the water level, on the sea floor. So changing sea levels don’t affect it. It’s in the second paragraph of the story.

Whaleoil: “…[tidal power] will never be implemented in New Zealnd because some little slimy seaweed will have to be saved in the best locations, or a fucking frog is endangered or some such other thing”

Me: Actually, they approved implementing the first tidal power in New Zealand just this week. That is what the news article was all about. If you read past the headline, you’d know that. Come to think of it, if you were smart you would have figured it out from the headline alone.

Given that you can’t read a news article, you’ll forgive me for not taking your “analysis” of the IGCC panel’s report on climate change at all seriously.

  • Whaleoil

Oh dear what a complete fuckwit….I don’t care what you think fool.

Yes the generator is going to be 95m below the sea surface, it wouldn’t work if it was above the surface would it…god you are so stupid.

However you have forgotten about how you get you wonderful new power from the the generator, more properly know as a turbine to the surface and then introduce it to the grid. Any power station I have ever been to, and I dare suggest it is more than you has a prodigious array of pylons and buildings etc for processing the power before feeding into the grid. I sincerely hope they are going to build all of that more than 20M above sea level lest the perils of so-called “Climate Change” submerge that….those things don’t work at all well underwater.

If you believe anything from that panel then you have jut proven yourself to be what we all have though anyway, you are a moron.

  • Medusa

Oh dear, does Sheehan the moron actually READ what he posts?
The CBD blackout may have been in 1998 but what has his beloved commie bunch done in the last 8 years to make sure it didn’t happen again? NOTHING! oh no, hang on, they just sold Vector to the chinese. Shot yourself in the foot yet again Sheehan, keep up the good work, we need all the laughs we can get.

  • Zarchoff

Oh dear, everyone has such short memories. Don’t you remember the last time when the doom and gloom merchants started banging on about blackouts etc. The spot price skyrocketed, Tiwai and Glenbrook cut back their consumption until the price fell and eventually all was fine. All it actually takes is for the major commercial users to cut back usage. Ordinary farties not boiling the jug or having cold showers won’t make any fucking difference.
