Helen Clark absent: Scott Dixon wins Indy 500

Scott Dixon wins indy500Scott Dixon has won the Indy 500 at Indianapolis this morning. Thankfully Helen Clark wasn’t in attendence or the victory wouldn’y have been possible.

He started from pole position, and lead for 115 of the race’s 200 laps to take home one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

He also became the 19th driver to win the race from pole position in 92 editions of the event.

Dixon should be pretty happy as well as he wins about $2.5million of real dollars.

Good on ya mate.

Great drive from Dixon. I sat in the lounge with laptop on the coffee table, and had the “celebratory” blog post finished just as he crossed the finish line, and posted by the time he made it to the winner’s circle!

The crew work by the Target-Chip Ganassi team was outstanding, especially on the last stop where he got out ahead of Vitor Meira to inherit the lead.
