Want to know why New Zealand is the Venezuela of the South Pacific, well Cameron Bagrie from ANZ National knows and he has released a report to show us why New Zealand is experiencing stagflation for the first time since the seventies.
“The money’s just not going into areas New Zealanders think it is.
“Do we really need 41 Government departments and 65 Crown entities, not to mention the 21 district health boards and nine Crown research institutes, for a population of four million?”
Even more telling is that spending on welfare benefits had increased by an average of 3 per cent a year, but back-office departmental spending by 7.5 per cent. Now how can that be, unemployment is at record lows??? Is the government actually lying? Surely as beneficiary numbers drop so to does the amount we spend on benefits.
