Watch this video. It is the whole secret video that has been suppressed by legal action since 2004. The allegations contained in this video are explosive. It was sent to me on DVD in an unmarked brown envelope postmarked from Henderson. I do not know who sent it, though I have verified it is authentic and additional footage supplied shows it to be authentic. This video was removed from the TVNZ newsroom and was in an unknown location until Rodney Hide raised the details in parliament. Then TVNZ miraculously “found” the tapes sitting in a lawyers office.

If true then justice in respect of the select committee inquiry into the Scampi Quota allocations has seriously been perverted. Not only that you have to ask why the person who insisted on the inquiry in the first place then changed his tune during  the inquiry.

People have been beaten up and in an attempt to stop you seeing the video. I will probably get a hiding now for publishing it, but I have published it because it is very much in the public interest to do so. It appears that a parliamentary select committee has been compromised through bribery, corruption and perjury. This goes to the heart of our democracy. I am going to need legal representation after showing this  video to the world.

More important though is why has the government remained so silent on this. Under the “no surprises” doctrine, surely the Finance Minister and the Broadcasting Minister at the time must have been alerted to the explosive contents of this video, and at the time it was filmed we know that the TVNZ board was leaking like the proverbial collander to the Prime minister herself. Further the ongoing ramifications of wealthy business interests and politicians maintaining legal proceedings with huge sums attached in order to suppress this information strikes the foundations of NZ politics.

Now the information is in the public domain thanks to WOBH, where sunlight is the best disinfectant, we need to urgently look at establishing an Independent Commission against Corruption and a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Scampi Allocation and subsequent perjury allegations contained in this video. Remember we are not talking about a lowly backbencher or associate minister getting some tiling done here, we are talking about New Zealand’s face around the world, our government representative, the Foreign Minister and/or the Prime Minister.

    It is defamatory (If untrue) but the real question for me is why did TVNZ supress this when it was obvious that this tape should have been passed to the appropriate authorities for immediate investigation. There appears to be evidence of a conspiracy here. The TVNZ supression is even more interesting given that as i understand it there was friction between TVNZ and WP. There are four levels where this could have been supressed, news program head, management, board and ministerial.

    The second question is that if this was held in a law firm comprised of officers of the court who had evidence that someone may have been part of a conspiracy to present false evidence to the hearing, that is a serious matter for those lawyers involved given it was not their client who was a party.

    Good nwork Cam – thanks for your courage – this will give Clark another sleepless night and she will look uglier than usual tomorrow morning. I just heard you on Radio Live – i think this is huge – the story broke last week and now is just beginning – Winston is up to his neck in it – he makes Philip Field look like a pussy cat by comparison.

    So the question is – Did Clark Know about this tape and if so why did she not act upon it. I agree with you that it is inconceivable that she would not have known – especially when you consider that it is her lackies on the Board that would have kept her informaed.

    Question time thios week will be a doozy.

    Oh dear oh dear, you can see what a slippery slope we’re on in NZ. Corruption happens little by little as so people don’t notice, then suddenly it’s endemic and difficult to do much about. You can completely understand what’s going on here, this guy did stuff he knew was wrong but he was worried about his job. When you have bills to pay you’re going to do what you’re told and this is how it all starts.

    Really? Why? You’ve possibly breached is the owner’s copyright by showing an item made years ago and which may net them a ton of advertising revenue on tonight’s news from all the additional viewers. I imagine a polite ‘sorry’ would be enough to make them go away.

    Interesting question as to why it was suppressed in the first place. That in itself will be a major scandal if it turns out Clark or Peters put the screws on TVNZ to stay quiet. I bet the TVNZ reporter who did the story is very, very pleased this is finally out. Love to hear his thoughts on its suppression.

    This is a huge story, actually. It raises issues with a) ministerial corruption and b) the independence of state-owned news media in NZ. And that’s on top of the perjury Mr Crapper admits. Huge.
