Wang winging da Wong number

Wang’s billboard stunt angers National’s WongFormer Act MP Kenneth Wang thought launching his campaign in the new electorate of Botany with the slogan “vote Wang, get Wang and Wong” would be a clever way to re-enter Parliament on November 8. But what he is getting instead… [NZ Herald Politics]

Pansy Wong needs to HTFU.

Get out on the hustings and campaign like you actually want the seat. Kenneth Wang is, why don’t you.

The Nats have still not woken up and seen that ACT have all this energy for the right to win this election properly. Only a few weeks ago National would have got into bed with Winston and Dunne when they both have propped up Helen for years.

ACT have a sense of humour and some Nats don’t. It’s that easy. Spend your time fighting and winning an election rather than spending time in court fighting ACT.

  • Zutroy

She makes a fair point about the EFA. ACT’s Wang shouldn’t be promoting another candidate’s election through the party.

  • Blair

No she doesn’t Zutroy. The complaint is ludicruous. Wong is guaranteed election on the party list and it is silly to pretend otherwise. The signs simply point out that she is in already and that a vote for Wang ensures Botany will have two good MPs representing them.

No she isn’t Zutroy, Wang is campaigning for peopel to vote for him, NOT her. It is very clear under the EFA that this goes under his campaign expenses and don’t affect her in the least.

Again, National acting like idiots and showing they don’t have a clue how MMP works. Great that shes doign this though, as it gives Wang even more profile!

The EFA does cover this situation – if it didn’t then there would be an obvious loophole for exceeding campaign advertising limits

The problem isn’t the National Party’s understanding of MMP, the problem here is the EFA.
