Vote splitting stats shows the traitors

DPF has enthusiastically blogged about the exciting vote splitting statistics, he even said they were “great fun”.

Ahem…great fun is anything but statistics, even getting the clap from a hooker would be great fun when compared to statistics.

On the other hand though, the vote splitting stats show where the traitors are;

  1. ACT – 72.6% voted for the National candidate, 4.9% Labour cand, 16.4% ACT cand
  2. National – 85.5% National, 3.5% Labour, 4.2% ACT

ACT has 4.9% of their supporters as traitors and National 3.5%. These are the voters that “pretend” to support you and at the same time vote pinko. I can’t be bothered commenting on the pinko parties, who cares about them anyway?

If this was Zimbabwe we would at least be able to find out who they were so as to send them off for a spot of re-education. ;)

Umm, thats not how it works Cam.

Quite frankly, some of the candidates from the parties were shit, and people were better off supporting a candidate from another party to represent their electorate. Or in the case my my electorate, all fo the candidates were shit.

  • Whaleoil

Yeah but voting Labour? What sort of amoron does that?

  • itsatrap

Are you seriously incapable of separating a candidate from their party?

There are capable people on both sides of the house.

  • Whaleoil

    No there isn’t.

I will never respect anyone who has spent their entire working life closeted in academia, a union or a school.

I reckon you shouldn’t be allowed to be an MP unless you have paid Provisional Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, your staff PAYE or filled in a GST return. Add to that paid rates on more than one property.

For somebody with family connections to the National Party, you are remarkably ignorant on the Party’s history.

Jenny Shipley was a primary school teacher before she entered politics. Do you therefore have no respect for her?

  • Whaleoil

I have enourmous respect for Jenny Shipley, mre so now that she runs a successful business. Just because my family has a long history with the party doesn’t mean I have to doff my hat and any and all comers under the banner. If they suck I’ll say so. Just ask Clem is you are unsure as to what I think of plonkers.

  • itsatrap

I have considerable respect for Jenny Shipey also.

My point is that MPs with ability have historically come from a wide range of backgrounds (just look at spud). So you can’t dismiss them on the basis of their professional backgrounds.
