The Tizard Dilemma

The leftards at the Lap-blog The Standard actually do seem to have a sense of humour. They have posted this outstanding burn of Judith Tizard. Now if the lap-bloggers are shunning you with mirth then I think it is fair to say that you have had your chance and it will be a cold day in hell before they will give you another one.

Judith Tizard and The Labour Party are no longer friends

Labour would have stripped Worth of portfolio – Goff

Labour would have stripped Worth of portfolio – GoffInternal Affairs Minister Richard Worth would have been stripped of his portfolio over the conflict of interest controversy if he had been a Labour MP, Opposition leader Phil Goff says. Dr Worth visited India and spoke in his ministerial… [NZ Herald Politics]

Oh hardy har-har, Phil Goff reckons he would have sacked Richard Worth. has he forgotten the Winston Peters side trip to Las Vegas. Phil Goff has no integrity on this matter. I’d listen more to Jim Anderton calling for his sacking that the temporary leader of the opposition.

Now personally I would sack Richard Worth anyway. But not for his supposed conflict of interest. More for his embarrassment of his leader and for giving the impression of impropiety.

I would also sack Richard Worth because given his answers in the house today it is apparent that he was facilitated thru Immigration and Customs in New Zealand by MinServices which is hardly the actions of someone travelling on his own ticket. This is exactly why I called repeatedly for Winston to be sacked.

I have seen cabinet ministers of National and Labour governments that were travelling on their own ticket queue like the rest of us…it is clear that Richard Worth did no such thing. It matters not a jot that Worth paid for his fare himself, it is appearances that matter and from all the information coming to light it would seem that appearances are very different from mr Worth’s version of events.

That in my book is enough to sack him.

Get your Paul Henry "Moustache" T-shirt

Moustache T-ShirtFirst there was the comment, then there was the Facebook group.

Now there is the t-shirt.

Paul Henry for Mt Albert I say.

Imagine the fun for the by-election of Paul Henry stood.

Seriously though TVNZ has done a wonderful PR job on this. Firstly the producer gave him the fax, then he did what he was told, then TVNZ had the video up on Youtube quicker than is usual and then the blogs were notified.

The leftards have reacted exactly as predicted and now you have a viral sensation.

Seven Labour candidates tipped to try for Mt Albert seat

Seven Labour candidates tipped to try for Mt Albert seatA seven-way fight is brewing within Labour’s ranks for the chance to take Helen Clark’s Mt Albert seat. The Herald has learned that Labour list MP Phil Twyford has not ruled out contesting the candidacy. Mr Twyford was initially… [NZ Herald Politics]

The Herald list seven Labour candidates to replace the mendacious Helen Clark. A sorrier list of candidates couldn’t be found if they tried. Labour needs to rebuild, not select more mediocrity. It is in the N/national interest that Labour has strong candidates, they need their “Don Brash”, they need someone strong not this bunch of limp-wristed ne’er-do-wells.

Phil Twyford – Helen’s chosen heir but saddled with the unfortunate T-squared dilemma. Vote Twyford get Tizard.

Louisa Wall – ex-netball player, lesbian and so out of favour with almost every faction in the Labour Party she has almost zero chance of selection

Hamish McCracken – the entirely forgettable punching bag of the North Shore. An economics lecturer, surely we have learned from the last one we had. Plus he used to work for the EPMU. He must have been tits at it because those jobs are usually jobs for life.

Helen White  – is another former EPMU worker and a bloody lawyer. We need more lawyers in parliament like I need cancer.

Glenda Fryer – I know some billboard owners that would love Glenda Fryer to stand. She, reportedly, is demanding the selection. A busy-body of the highest standing.

Conor Roberts – By all accounts he is supposed to be a good bloke for a pinko but he sure as hell isn’t a “Don Brash”.

Meg Bates – a loyal lickspittle from Helen Clark’s Mt Albert office, she will do what Helen says and Helen says it is Phil.

Losers to the last, National must be licking their lips in anticipation.

The Greatest Lie ever Told

We’re all doomed the warmists exclaim, we’re all going to drown they whine endlessly, Didn’t you see An Inconvenient Truth? they whimper.

And they lie, they tell the greatest lie ever told.

If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe.

Although the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) only predicts a sea level rise of 59cm (17 inches) by 2100, Al Gore in his Oscar-winning film An Inconvenient Truth went much further, talking of 20 feet, and showing computer graphics of cities such as Shanghai and San Francisco half under water. We all know the graphic showing central London in similar plight. As for tiny island nations such as the Maldives and Tuvalu, as Prince Charles likes to tell us and the Archbishop of Canterbury was again parroting last week, they are due to vanish.
But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Mörner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.

Despite fluctuations down as well as up, “the sea is not rising,” he says. “It hasn’t risen in 50 years.” If there is any rise this century it will “not be more than 10cm (four inches), with an uncertainty of plus or minus 10cm”. And quite apart from examining the hard evidence, he says, the elementary laws of physics (latent heat needed to melt ice) tell us that the apocalypse conjured up by
Al Gore and Co could not possibly come about.

If anyone knows about sea-levels it is this guy and he has looked at the computer models and found the lie, the big lie;

The reason why Dr Mörner, formerly a Stockholm professor, is so certain that these claims about sea level rise are 100 per cent wrong is that they are all based on computer model predictions, whereas his findings are based on “going into the field to observe what is actually happening in the real world”.

When running the International Commission on Sea Level Change, he launched a special project on the Maldives, whose leaders have for 20 years been calling for vast sums of international aid to stave off disaster. Six times he and his expert team visited the islands, to confirm that the sea has not risen for half a century. Before announcing his findings, he offered to show the inhabitants a film explaining why they had nothing to worry about. The government refused to let it be shown.

Similarly in Tuvalu, where local leaders have been calling for the inhabitants to be evacuated for 20 years, the sea has if anything dropped in recent decades. The only evidence the scaremongers can cite is based on the fact that extracting groundwater for pineapple growing has allowed seawater to seep in to replace it. Meanwhile, Venice has been sinking rather than the Adriatic rising, says Dr Mörner.

One of his most shocking discoveries was why the IPCC has been able to show sea levels rising by 2.3mm a year. Until 2003, even its own satellite-based evidence showed no upward trend. But suddenly the graph tilted upwards because the IPCC’s favoured experts had drawn on the finding of a single tide-gauge in Hong Kong harbour showing a 2.3mm rise. The entire global sea-level projection was then adjusted upwards by a “corrective factor” of 2.3mm, because, as the IPCC scientists admitted, they “needed to show a trend”.

Let us hear no more of rising sea levels, let us hear no more about computer models show us…..it is all bollocks, pseudo-science wrapped up in Warmist Jihadi fear mongering.

Al Gore and all the others that have lied about Climate Change should be publicly pilloried and then exiled to the sub-Antarctic.

Earth Hour Bollocks

All the warmists and Greenies waxed lyrical about saving the planet and doing their bit for Earth Hour.

Unfortunately for them they didn’t save a bloody thing. Earth Hour is complete bollocks.

I checked with Transpower’s handy site that allows you to download the data for Zone Loads. I compared Last Week’s Saturday with the Earth Day Saturday and Total NZ with North Island and South Island. If you don’t believe me then feel free to download the data yourself.

Guess what….no bloody savings whatsoever. In fact last week we did much better without any publicity at all. See the Green Line….during the same time last week we used considerably less power. Note also that the South Island hardly participated at all.

Earth Hour a crock of shit

PM gives ministers 'a bollocking'

Key kicks Worth and Smith in the nutsPM gives ministers ‘a bollocking’Prime Minister John Key has carpeted one minister for getting involved in a potential conflict of interest and shot down another for suggesting a tax on plastic bags after being blindsided twice in 24 hours. [Stuff Politics]

John Key has rightly given Richard Worth and Nick Smith a right good kicking in the nuts for being silly w**kers.

Nick and Dick both rhyme with?

Speaking of Dick, with all his “interests” and faux ambassadorships and honorary consulships is Richard really getting prepared for life after being an MP in two years time. You’d have to assume with him maintaining his “interests” that an MP’s salary isn’t really cutting the mustard, either that or his pecuniary interests are measured in cents rather than dollars.

Good on John for giving them a kicking. Nick Smth should really be sent down the road but hey, John Key seems to know what he is about.

Another reason to not follow Obama and Brown

Hat tip Gooner at No Minister

Following Gordon Brown and Obama down the path to economic destruction is what the lefties all want. They whine and moan about the lack of stimulus from John Key and National. Well here is a word of warning about following the path they want;

Hungarian-born US billionaire George Soros says it is “conceivable” that Britain will have to resort to a bailout from the International Monetary Fund.

“It’s conceivable,” Soros said in an interview with the Times published on Saturday.

“You have a problem that the banking system is bigger than the economy … so for Britain to absorb it alone would really pile up the debt.”

Soros said that “if the banking system continued to collapse, it’s (an IMF bailout) a possibility but it’s not a likelihood.”

The man who made $US1 billion on selling the pound on Black Wednesday in 1992 described the current recession as a “once-in-a-lifetime event”, particularly in Britain.

“This is a crisis unlike any other. It’s a total collapse of the financial system with tremendous implications for everyday life.

“On previous occasions when you had a crisis that was threatening the system the authorities intervened and did whatever was necessary to protect the system. This time they failed.”

He said he feared the problem in Britain, with its huge financial and banking interests, could be greater than in the United States.

Car crush law closer for boy racers

Car crush law closer for boy racersThe threat to crush boy racers’ cars for repeat offences has moved forward with the Government drafting legislation aimed at getting their souped-up vehicles out of circulation. Police Minister Judith Collins said legislation currently… [NZ Herald Politics]

Talkback today was full of wowsers wailing about the poor kiddies who will have their cars crushed. Well Diddums.

The best fools were the one who suggested we not do anything because the boy-racer would just find a way around the laws….oh good oh!

Let’s not pass laws because someone will find a way around it.

Now I am all for crushing cars, but I really would like the Police to use our existing laws to actually police these menaces. There are plenty enough but it seems that the Police are more intent on issuing tickets rather than policing breaches of the peace. I think a re-focus is needed.

TVNZ is a Social Media desert

Chris Keall at NBR shows us preceisely why TVNZ hasn’t got it in moving with the times. As other businesses get onto the Social Media bandwagon the fools that run the place have decided to ban access to Facebook, Bebo and Trademe.

According to an internal memo leaked on Throng, TVNZ has banned a number of social networking sites, plus the likes of TradeMe, in an effort to trim its broadband bill.

Sites banned include TVNZ’s content partner Bebo.

But, as Throng notes, the state broadcaster’s network Nazi’s don’t seem to be hip to Twitter. Or maybe they consider tweets both time and bandwidth-efficient.

The memo reads:

“As part of TVNZ’s response to the recession, restrictions are now being put on access to some social websites. Provision of bandwidth is an increasing cost to the company and high volume usage on social networking websites impacts on our bandwidth availability for core business activities i.e. the consumer experience on tvnz.co.nz and ondemand. The restrictions will be active from Wednesday March 18th and will apply between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, please use your judgement on appropriate personal use.

The websites that will be blocked are: Facebook, Bebo, Ebay, Zillion, Trademe, Gumtree.”

I reckong they would save a chitload more bandwidth if they would stop spamming bloggers about their shitty shows and their made up statsistics showing why they are supposedly number one. It is spam, it is annoying and I for one may well be laying a complaint.

Yes Andi Brotherston that means you. I have never subscribed to your missives, nor do I want your blatant spin. If I wanted transcripts of your crappy shows I would ask for them. Furthermore it is just plain fucking rude to not have an unsubscribe option.

It isn’t any wonder why your stations are failing so badly, the pity is it is with my money that you are doing it. It is long past time that Broadcasting Minister Coleman took a stick to TVNZ. Being an old Grammar boy he knows well what sort of motivation a beating with the cane instills.
