I have already blogged as to why Cherishsiliala Tahuri-Wright died. I have to blog again on this because as is usual in these cases the family that killed her seems to think it wasn’t their fault and it is all the fault of someone else.
In this case they are blaming the ambulance staff.
Worse the spokesperson for the family is a City Councillor. Worse still is the media are buying their outrageous accusations.
This little girl dies for two reasons. One is that her family cared so little for her that they allowed a family member to bash her so severely she was pretty much dead already and other reason is she was yet another victim of Silly First Name Syndrome.
Silly First Name Syndrome tends to have tragic consequences either for the holder of such a name of someone that comes in contact with the holder of a silly name. Tragedy is always just a moment away with people ho have silly first names.
I will lobby the Greens to see if they can call for a ban of Silly First Names. Though I’m not sure how Russel or Metiria will cope with such a ban.
