Another Maori Baby Dead

Sue Bradford resigns, Maori are still wailing about a ‘h’ and seats on a council and still Maori are killing their children. Another Maori baby has died, I think that is two a week they are running at right now. I would almost lay a bet that the latest death is also Silly First Name Syndrome related.

The family of the Morrinsville toddler who died in hospital on Saturday night were known to Child Youth and Family.

“Although we have had no involvement with the toddler, her wider family is known to Child, Youth and Family,” said general manager Lorraine Williams.

“My condolences are with those who loved and cared for her. We will continue to work alongside the police as they complete their investigations.”

Residents near the Studholme St house in the Waikato town say they were told the toddler had brain damage when paramedics arrived on Saturday afternoon.

Police said she had serious injuries and said her death was suspicious. However, they remained cautious about labelling it a homicide.

Spokesman Andrew McAlley said there were still a number of medical tests that had to be carried out. The cause of death had not been confirmed.

Whanau still had to be contacted before the name would be released and that might not be for days.

The CYF spokeswoman makes me sick to the stomach. She offers condolences to those who loved and cared for her. Does anyone spot the major flaw in her thought processes. loved and cared for children do not die from “serious injuries” or in “suspiscious” circumstances” nor do they suffer “brain damage” miraculously before paramedics arrive.

Michael Laws was right when he wrote to those silly school children. We should start taking Maori lobby groups seriously when Maori stop killing their kids.

Is Hail-Sage a particularly silly first name? Hail-Hitler might have been worse, I guess.

Im curious to see what the Ostrich Party comes up with for this one

The Maori leaders are yet again extremely silent on the continual disgusting murders and abuse of their children, is Turia crying tears for this poor kiddie like she did over the H in Wanganui? Are there marches and hui happening across the country to stop this tragedy? No. They are all at a Tangi in Rotorua Scoffing their faces and partying flat out while their children are being abuse and murdered. I wonder how many Maori leaders will be at the Tangi for Hail-Sage? If one kid a week is being murdered how many thousands of other children are suffering. It is a national disgrace and it urgently needs to be addressed. It appears that property rights, the treaty and an H are taking much greater precedence.

Sounds like a very sad situation.

It would be nice to think, Whaleoil, that ‘your’ Government may like to do something about this sort of thing.

Babies will continue to die until the "warrior" gene in Maori is extinguished, that is never!

  • Paul Marsden

The ‘warrior’ gene does indeed, exist and I’d also be interested to see some stats on what tribes these slaughtered babies belong(ed) to. Could there be a common link??

I'm Maori, and I don't abuse or kill my children. Don't taint us all with the same brush.

  • Paul Marsden

Jacinta: You’re absolutley right of course, but that is the cruel and unfair burden that Maori (or, any other race for that matter), have to bare when they are over-represented in any crime satistic.

Elijah Lineberry – what do you propose any government can do about parents killing their kids?

Apart from condemning it and legislation against murder and child abuse, how, practically, can any Government prevent this from happening?

Your presupposition is incorrect – the responsibility for looking after children lies with their families, friends, communities. That is their job, not the government's.

Until people realise this, these cases will continue to make the headlines.

The baby's name was Hail-Sage – I have to admit, you might be on to something with your weird name theory – if nothing else as another thing to throw in the profile CYFS should be running to try to identify these cases BEFORE they happen. To me it shows an immaturity and selfishness to call a baby such an out there name that they have to live with for the rest of their lives – i mean can you imagine, all stand for the Chief Justice of the Supreme court – Hail-Sage – it aint going to happen – and it seems in some cases (im sure not all but some) this flows through to mistreatment and not being the right people to be parents.

Roger, for a start the Government could stop giving handouts to people in order for them to have children (bring up children is also the responsibility of parents, not the Government)
