Should your rates be used to fund….

Should the Auckland City Council fund with ratepayer cash….

an exhibition of lesbian activism on Treaty of Waitangi issues during 1979-1983” (Charlotte Trust, page 9 of the linked PDF)

CityVision (Labor and the Greens stealth ticket) and Labour say “yes” - rates should be used to fund an exhibition of lesbian activism on Treaty of Waitangi issues during 1979-1983.

Citizens  & Ratepayers said no.

This is just like how CityVision (Labour and the Greens) funded seances, tarot card readings, phone calls to the Congo and other drippy ideas when they were in charge.

Remember these people want control of the super city and Len Brown is supporting them and they are supporting Len Brown. If they get in charge this is where your rates will be going. The left know no bounds when it comes to troughing and gouging tax and ratepayers.

    And theres more
Auckland City councillors knew ticket sales were poor and a big loss was imminent when they bailed out the musical My Fair Lady to the tune of $1.4 million a week out from the opening, official papers show.
Two star-studded plays lost a further $500,000 over the same period, taking losses for The Edge over one month to about $2.5 million.

Thats right the Citrats (National & Act) want to control the Supercity. If they get in charge this is where your rates will be going. The (right) know no bounds when it comes to Throwing away money from ratepayers.

    David Beckham – ARC

    • mediatart

Compared to the Citrats funding of tired musicals, the Beckham show was at least seem by 10's of 000s.
Silly idea anyway, but still the culprits who lid to the ARC councillors were sacked.
Auckland City Citrats seem to want to keep getting their free tickets to the big productions. You would think they would have learnt from the 2002 fisaco ( after which they were tossed out of office), but no they are back in wasting even more millions , did I spell that right , yes millions.

Sounds like it would have got more audiences if the lesbians were on stage and My Fair lady ( its 2009 For Christ Sake) was relegated to the Charlotte Museum

BTW sounds like EACH person seeing MFL was subsidised by Citrats by $1000 each

An islamic charity says on its website that it is ''supported'' by the ChCh city council..I tried to find out the nature of this ''support'' to no avail. Are other councils ''supporting'' islamic charities?

    • itsatrap

One would hope so. They're more than happy to support Christian charities like the Auckland City Mission.
