You've got to laugh

Hone Harawira has ticked off someone who ticked him off via email and in a  spectacular way. Now I am in no way justifying Hone’s actions but the pure politics of this are simple.

Mr Mikaere, who runs a consulting company, emailed Mr Harawira a two sentence message: “Gotta ask the question eh? who’s paying for Hilda?”

Mr Harawira wrote back starting his email; “Gee Buddy, do you believe that white man bullshit too do you?

“White motherfucker have been raping our lands and ripping us off for centuries and all of a sudden you want me to play along with their puritanical bullshit.”

Mr Harawira then went on to say how much time and energy he put into fighting for Maori and what a big role his wife Hilda played in that.

“And quite frankly I don’t give a shit what you or anyone else thinks about it. OK?”

That made Mr Mikaere angry and he wrote back again.

“… you’re no better than that wanker Rodney Hide and the white mofos you complain about,” Mr Mikaere wrote, referring to Mr Hide’s actions in taking his partner on an overseas ministerial trip despite the Prime Minister John Key’s direction against the practice.

“And get off your moral high horse while you’re at it – nobody forced you to be an MP.”

Here is what will happen. Nothing. There is not one thing anyone can do about Hone Harawira, he is an electorate MP and all the bros up north will be hanging with the gang signs saying “good on ya bro”. That is the barefaced, unadulterated politics of the situation and all the huffing and puffing by people on their high horses will not change that situation one single bit.

Actually it is quite refreshing to see an MP speak their mind. I kind of like his take no prisoners attitude. I think Hone should get Politician of the Week for his refreshing honesty. Can we please have some more honesty in our politics.

Rodney Hide gets runner up because he stated what most of us have been thinking that the Bill and John show aren’t actually doing anything. But Rodney only gets runner up because he didn’t use the words Mofo, mother-fucker, wanker or shit in his speech.

I find ironic that Hone pisses and moans how badly the White Man has treated him and brown brothers. But he in total awe with the bright lights of Paris and the culture then in. You would think a place like Paris would be last place a slave of of Old Whitey would want to go to with their history of colonial oppression.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/billhicks billhicks

I laughed when i heard Hone/John had gone to paris for a bit of sight seeing.BUT……………………. after his…WHITE MOTHER FUCKERS HAVE BEEN RAPING OUR LANDS AND RIPPING US OFF………comment. This racist can go fuck himself and his prune lookalike mother…………….

  • Adolf Fiinkensein

Whale, this time I think you are wrong. You misjudge the appetite of Maoridom for this sort of crap.

    Just wait and watch.

  • jabba

Adolf .. I can't wait to see if any Maori big wigs slam him .. Pita, Rangi Walker or even the Maori King. Willie Jackson thinks it's ok but then he is a confused individual anyway.
The man had a chance of making change within the system .. he has shown a total lack of maturity and let his true racist self out.

  • crabby

The honesty is refreshing, but I think he will get a limp slap on the wrist. What fucks me off the most is …. do that in an ACTUAL job and your fired. This prick is sitting there getting paid more than people who work their asses off and he will also get benefits for the rest of his life for being a Trougher.
Remember when he went awol in Ausi and went to see some Aboriginal settlements and called Kevin Rudd a racist…..pot kettle black.

If he doesnt buy into "white mans bullshit" then WTF is the douchebag thinking being an MP.

  • Scanner

Good on you Hone, the entire allowance and travel system is a complete crock of shit, and the more dumb-arse politicians abuse and rip the thing off the better.
Perhaps then we may see some reform, next time you go give me a ring I'll come with you.
The other story going round is, the only reason Hone went to France is someone sent him a letter with come in it – LOL

  • Sinner

But Rodney only gets runner up because he didn’t use the words Mofo, mother-fucker, wanker or shit in his speech

Naa – Rodder's ain't no fucking National pantywaist. He said shit, at least twice. In the Dompost.

And – again according to stuff – Key is demanding Hone gets fired or oh dear, what a pity, Maori Party out of Coalition, Rodney and Roger get a few more ministries

Frankly, Hone's rant may be the best thing that's happened for NZ's economy since 1991.

  • Theresaj

I think the ''Mullah going nuts story'' in Texas is far more important than this story in the wider scheme of things. Just watch our PC media play down the bloke's affiliations.

  • http://threechairsnzlimited.blogspot.com/ peter

I agree the honesty is refreshing. Most of them think it but aren't dumb enough to say it out loud. I can just imagine all the Pakeha MP's getting together at Bellamys after a hard day in the corridors of power (pffft) and having a good laugh at us stupid taxpayers who pay for their second homes and rental properties, their first class travel with their wives, or gayboy lovers, and their chauffer driven BMWs.

And down the road at the local fish and chip shop the Maori MPs are all having a good laugh as us stupid white taxpaying mother-fuckers who have raped the country and ripped them off for centuries but have been taking it us the ass ever since. AND we're paying for THEIR second homes and rental properties, first class travel with their wives (do any of them have gay lovers?) and chauffer driven BMWs too.

    How stupid are we?

  • itsatrap

Why has there been a sudden rush of MPs speaking their minds?

Is there something in the water?

  • Buggerlugs

itsatrap – nah, they just realise they can get in the papers. Like Shane Bradbrook, this helps them fulfill their KPIs.

  • crabby

mmp is on the way out thats why :P

  • John

I suppose we can expect the same hand-wringing bullshit and total lack of action over this racist and bigotted outburst from one of their own. After all, these are the same Maori leaders and politicians who have perfected the disgraceful art of hand-wringing and inaction while their people viciously bash children to death every few weeks!

Hone misused taxpayer funds in Oz a few years back to support the aborigines in their opposition to John Howards Northern territory intervention. This is the same intervention that was ACTION to try and reduce the drunken bashing, sexual assault and killing of both women, and, the children.

If my memory serves me correctly, Hone's trip was at the same time as young Nia Glassie was being tortured and beaten to death in Rotorua. (someone with more info should check the timelines). So this bloody racist flies over to protest an attempt by the Australians to stop their indigenous people bashing and assaulting their children, while his people are murdering another baby at home.

Why does NZ let these self-serving racist ineffective politicians get away with this.

Oh that's right, because you can't say anything negative about them or else you'll be called a racist, or to be more precise, "a white motherfucker". Good on Ya Hone…how much are us taxpayers paying for this privelege?

  • crabby

He Must go… we cant have people like this with their own agenda sponging up our $$ its as simple as that.

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Chiefsfan73 Chiefsfan73

Oh but we can. I just wanna know how and where I can board this gravy train. I'd love to hear suggestions as to how we can stop this sort of thing, but doubt I will

  • Telly

I can't believe that every single statement here is , NOT saying this man being stood down as a Member of Parliament. "Good on y'" comments and just ridiculous … I can't believe anyone in NZ could think this is ok and I won't believe this is representative of Maori in any way. If I think this is what the people I share life with are thinking about me based on my skin colour, I'm outa here!

If this email is true, the Maori Party simply don't have a choice but to remove him from office. Not only is this a set of breaches which can only constitute dismissal, it seriously damages their mana in NZ. In my view this extends beyond the party and damages Maori in many subtle and not so subtle ways.

Maori – get behind this and get him out. He's not your friend …

    • Skillbuilder

      I agree, Telly.
I have 50% Maori nieces and nephews, and you couldn't meet a nicer bunch of hardworking, respecful people.
I wouldn't like to think of them being abused for their skin colour because of b.st..ds like Harawira.

    • Tama_Ma

Guys like Hone are great at jumping on the bandwagon, but at the same time ignore their own culture and ignore their own elders/kaumatua in their behaviour. They use culture as an excuse while not following their own rules. I doubt the kaumatua around the country support his comments.

The Maori people and their kaumatua have plenty of mana as far as I'm concerned.
The Maori Party has none whatsoever.
      Bunch of clowns

  • jabba

well .. "Dr" Rangi Walker is a Hone/John supporter so there you go

  • Harold

From Stuff… "Commissioner Joris de Bres says unlike students wearing Nazi uniforms or schoolboys bowing to a swastika Mr Harawira's comments are not a breach of the Human Rights Act, because he is entitled to freedom of expression."

Harawira's outburst amuses rather than bothers me, tho' the thought of replace 'white' with 'brown' and see how far you get does occur. If the above statement is correct, that giant pot of toss Joris de Bres says that a bunch of teenagers being jerks is an offence against human rights, yet something that sounds to me like incitement to racial hatred is "freedom of expression". The biggest complete and utter lump of human fecal matter here is Joris de Bres. Am I alone in this view I wonder?

  • Harold

Correction – quote above wasn't 'Stuff'. It was "NZHerald".

<quote>"Actually it is quite refreshing to see an MP speak their mind. I kind of like his take no prisoners attitude. I think Hone should get Politician of the Week for his refreshing honesty."</quote>

It IS refreshing, but I think Rodney Hide deserves the prize in that regard, Harawira's done nothing worse than Richard Worth before him, and I don't recall anything much happened to him.
