CLIMATEGATE – So what was the rush for?

Nick Smith rammed our ETS through parliament under urgency with one of the major reasons being to harmonise with Australia. Well that has coming crashing down around the fools ears with ClimateGate and now with the Australian Senate in particular the Opposition steeled by dumping their warmist leader has dumped their ETS in the bin. Rudd is now faced with the possibility of calling an early election and with the Liberals couching the next election in terms around the fraud that is Climate Change the Labor’s wish for a massive tax upon the Australian population.

“As leader I am not frightened of an election,” Mr Abbott said after his victory. “I am not afraid of an election on this (ETS) issue.

“This is a $120 billion tax on the Australian public, and that is just for starters.” he said.

Why has no-one here squealed about the massive taxes levied against our population? I wish we had a leader of the National party that would call the warmists on their bullshit like Tony Abbot has done in Australia.

He once called Mr Rudd “a toxic bore” because of his environmentalist zeal.

“I don’t say there aren’t problems, but I refuse to be terrified of the future,” Mr Abbot said recently.

“If you look at Roman times, grapes grew up against Hadrian’s Wall. In the 1700s they had ice fairs on the Thames.

“So the world has been significantly hotter, significantly colder than it is now. We’ve coped.”

Nick Smith and John Key pushed this through so we could be world laders whenn it is increasingly likely that new Zealand will be left standing as the only country who actually bought into the hype, the lies and the fraud that is Global Warming.

Already Copenhagen is doomed. The Chinese and Indians look set to walk, along with the Brazilians and South Africans and the ClimateGate scandal has discredited much of the science and the scientists behind the advise for the IPCC and behind the necessity for the Copenhagen Treaty.

In an unprecedented move, India on Saturday joined China and two other developing countries to prepare for a major offensive on rich nations at the Copenhagen conference on Climate Change next month.

The four countries, which include Brazil and South Africa, agreed to a strategy that involves jointly walking out of the conference if the developed nations try to force their own terms on the developing world, Jairam Ramesh, the Indian minister for environment and forests (independent charge), said.

“We will not exit in isolation. We will co-ordinate our exit if any of our non-negotiable terms is violated. Our entry and exit will be collective,” Ramesh told reporters in Beijing.

So we will go to Copenhagen as the ONLY country in the world to have implemented an ETS, the ONLY country in the world to have exposed our economy and industry to the vast Ponzi scheme ever invented, a scheme that is based on shonky science and down right lies. We will be the laughing stock of the world now as the world realises that Al Gore and his almost conned the whole of humanity with the greatest fraud yet conceived since Ponzi first lent his name to that type of fraud.

I shake my head in bemusement at what John Key and Nick Smith have done to our country. I wonder too what a secret ballot of the National caucus would reveal on the issue of Climate Change. And I wait with baited breathe for “Witi” Farrar to cut and paste Bill English’s and Nick Smiths obfuscations.

Exactly. And this is what we have been arguing all along. Read your history. And BTW the human race PROSERED in the warmer times in history

    Witi Farrar love it.

Dont hold your breath there. It;s fingers in the ears time singing lalalalalalal at kiwiblog.

He has had no time to read or post on the emails but can post on 12 other subjects except for the biggest single mistake made in NZ political history. The credibility is shot!

    Well said Whale.

I am utterly distraught at the turn of events. I never expected NZ to get much better under Nats. I certainly never expected it to get this much worse. Are the Libertarianz becoming the only true opposition party?

" And I wait with baited breathe for “Witi” Farrar to cut and paste Bill English’s and Nick Smiths obfuscations."

And I wait with baited breathe for WO to resign from the National Party and join ACT. Come on Whale you can do it.

  • Harry

This is serious stuff, as Shane just alluded to above we're just as poked, if not more so, under the Nats. What's this plus ACC rises going to be costing the average worker in a year? $30 a week or more?

  • erikter

shonKey needs to answer the question of why the rush. He's left Nick Smith to muck around with the ETS and passed a useless piece of legislation that will hobble NZ competitive edge with Australia.

Why is the National Party so weak?

Thank f#$k at least ONE person in parliament actually has the guts to say something….the rest of the sheep go 'baaaaaa'……. Seriously!! how can it come to this?….I ain't in any way shape or form into conspiracy theories, but man….WTF??? It's like some sort of crazy religion and the ETS is the tithe we must all pay…..I mean it's like watching Benny Hinn (worked on one of those things once and got to watch armorgaurd trucks making regular ferry trips to the bank all day).

I love it that the nuts defending this CRU email stuff are using papers from Science and Nature / IPCC etc to try and prove innocence…….Have they bothered to read the fucking emails? the most damning is actually the code!! unbelievable……I'm truly stunned……and NOT A PEEP from the MSM in this country….? seriously…..WTF???

    GO RODNEY!!!!

Tony Abbott has previously polarised opinion. His opponent in the race to dump turnball-less was Joe Hockey, the cuddly stand for nothing bear. Because he wouldn't oppose the ETS he split the vote and destroyed his chances. Abbott acted decisively to vote down the ETS. A wise move. Slowly but surely the public are realising the costs of an ETS, and that it has almost no chance of changing anything. I think Krudd realises this, which is why he will not call an early election.

Instead while he flies all around the world growing his carbon footprint and trying to appear cool to Obummer, his flunkies including Turnball-less have been trashing the so called deniers.

Thankfully the game was up before an ETS got thru, wish the same had happened in NZ.

I suspect that Key is motivated by polling of the well-heeled professional persons of Parnell for whom global warming (where is it when you need it?) is a career opportunity and a "nice thing" to do as you get to meet dim-witted but pretty B-list celebs who left school without School C science. These Parnellians are seen by National Party strategists as the archetypal swinging voters; not the workers who will now lose their jobs through increased ETS associated costs and who voted for National in opposition to 'the Nanny State'.

In Australia, it has been fascinating to watch the polls immediately record an immediate turnaround in the numbers of those who supported AGW pre-Abbott (around 60-70%) to those who now oppose an ETS and 'crap' science (around 60-70%).

It is very distressing to see Key, join Krudd and Clark, in the hope of some major UN junket at the end of his tenure, buying into the denialist camp (those who deny cooling is occurring).

The Australian position is galvanising the US Republicans and Blue-Dog Democrats – there is now no hope of an ETS in either of our strategic and trade partners – Australia or the US. Copenhagen will fail; even its promoters agree on that.

Key and Smith will be too gutless to defer the ETS and we will further diminish our respective international position. But there is hope – at this rate we can become a developing country and get massive aid from the international community. So John, just hold that $900 million cheque you promised India, China and South Korea (yes folks this is a developing country according to Kyoto), and with any luck we can be on the receiving end.

Inveresquare is right: This entire global warming scam is like a crazy religion. Rationality and a measure of sober insight are not evident in this debate. I blame the MSM for allowing this crap to develop unimpeded.

The actions of Key.Smith, English and co are absurd and without apparent explanation.

VOTE Libertarianz to end this garbage!

  • Doug

Why can the Overseas News report fraud and in New Zealand they stay well away from it.
