SFNS strikes top accountant

The 2009 Chartered Accountant of the Year (really, there is one) goes by the name of Warwick Hunt.

Is that his real name? Or did the partnership at PWC make him change it by deed pool to better fit their image? His parents must have hated him!  Or they never tried to say his name quickly.

Considering he is in the same line of work as Michael Stiassny I’d say he is appropriately named.

    I learnt a new word reading this….’yooneek’ spelling.

    Please can we turn french or japanese to save these unfortunate kids a lifetime of ridicule brought about by their parents.

    One of the kids I went to school with was called Mike Hunt!

    Pardon my ignorance cam, but I would have thought that Warwick was a fairly traditional name? (Pronounced Worrick)I agree with your basic premise that SFNS is a fialry accurate reflection of a semi-dysfunctunal and at-risk family situation. but I think that Warwick isn’t one such case? Cheers

    I think this one falled under “SWNS” Silly Whole Name Syndrome.

    I used to work with a guy (also an accountant) by the name of Wayne Kingham, bet his parents never said that fast.

    My fav is still Mike Litoris.. that never fails to crack me up

    Yeah as Jimmie said Warwick is a fairly normal name. I know of at least 2 other Warwicks in Auckland and they are regular blokes.

    My take on this SFNS thing is that in NZ it’s mostly the polynesians who give their kids silly names and also where most of the dysfunctional families come from. Thus the silly name and the syndrome are related but its not a case of one causes the other.

    …further to Hunt, accountant, there is also the story of Cheryl, receptionist at Hunt, Hunt and Cunningham. Terrible job for Cheryl, especially when she got a bit rattled and flustered…
