Climategate and Glaciergate

The IPCC and Associated hangers on were damaged quite considerably by Climategate email scandal. Pinko Farrar isn’t so concerned about that, but Glaciergate is really starting to bite.

Once you start putting the pieces together though as revealed by the emails, that a cabal of “scientists” joined together to present a pre-determined view and the IPCC aided and abetted that, with the evidence now pouring in of fabricated, Mann-made evidence, out-right false information you start to get the picture that “the science is settled” lie is now in tatters.

Worse is the outright fraud of the whole industry. I won’t call it a science as it appears to be a chicken little based industry designed to scare us out of billions of dollars and the IPCC Chairman is right at the centre of the coming storm.

Dr Pachauri has described as “voodoo science” an official report by the country’s leading glaciologist, Dr Vijay Raina, which dismissed Dr Hasnain’s claims about Himalayan Glacial Melting as baseless.

Now Dr Pauchari has moved on, just like a certain ex-leader of this country, not even acknowledging that the glaciologist was right and was forced to issue an unprecedented admission: the statement in its 2007 report that Himalayan glaciers could disappear by 2035 had no scientific basis, and its inclusion in the report reflected a “poor application” of IPCC procedures.

There wasn’t just one error, but three factual errors, in the paragraph contained in the 2007 IPCC report:

  1. The 2035 date is absolute nonsense, and was either made up or was 2350 transposed.
  2. The rate of receding by the Himalayan glaciers are not in fact receding faster than anywhere else in the world.
  3. The size of the Himalayan glaciers is around 1/15th of 500,000 square kms – 33,000 square km.

Poor procedures caused this? But wait a minute, what happened to peer reviewed studies, the process by which the science is supposed to be settled? Out the fricken window is what happened particularly in the case of Glaciergate. We already know that the cabal centred around the CRU were manipulating the peer-review process from the Climategate emails, now we can see that false, misleading and outright wrong data was included in the IPCC report.

Now the cat is out of the bag and criminal charges are likely to be laid, the weasels are squealing like little piggies.

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.

Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research.

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, Dr Lal, the co-ordinating lead author of the report’s chapter on Asia, said: ‘It related to several countries in this region and their water sources. We thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action.

‘It had importance for the region, so we thought we should put it in.’

It wasn’t about the science because no science existed, it was about political pressure, and about money. It has now been revealed that Dr Pauchari, in a spectacular conflict of interest, gained approximately $14 million for his company TERI by false pretenses. So we have a bunch of lies used to perpetrate a fraud to study something which doesn’t exist and Dr Pauchari’s pocketed the money.

This furore also implicates the great pretender Al Gore. He together with Dr Pauchari received a Nobel Peace Prize based on this exact issue.

Worse still the scientist that made the palpably false statement that this fraud is based upon actually works for Dr. Pauchari’s TERI.

Even more damaging now, however, will be the revelation that the source of that offending prediction was the man whom Dr Pachauri himself has been employing for two years as the head of his glaciology unit at TERI – and that TERI has won a share in two major research contracts based on a scare over the melting of Himalayan glaciers prominently promoted by the IPCC, using words drawn directly from Dr Hasnain.

Understandably the Indian Government is rope-able. Firstly by the attack on its own expert as a practitioner of “voodoo science” by Dr. Pauchari but also the evidence right in front of them that the perpetrator of the lie works for Dr. Pauchari. I think we may be just days away from seeing Dr. Pauchari indicted by the Indian Government. The IPCC is hopelessly compromised now and even the UN is also now hopelessly compromised as well:

United Nations climate science panel faces new controversy for wrongly linking global warming to an increase in the number and severity of natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods.

It based the claims on an unpublished report that had not been subjected to routine scientific scrutiny — and ignored warnings from scientific advisers that the evidence supporting the link too weak. The report’s own authors later withdrew the claim because they felt the evidence was not strong enough.

Unpublished reports, faked data, outright lies, destroyed base data, the science is dead, the IPCC is dead, and the greatest fraud attempted to be perpetrated on the human race is exposed as a house of cards built upon the quicksand of lies. Even NASA is pulling pages from its website as we speak trying to mitigate the unspeakable damage the fraudster Dr. Pauchari has done to the industry.

If Nick “Quota” Smith wasn’t so focused on his court case he might like to take the time to review the mounting evidence that the Climate Change industry is a fraud, that he is a fraud and the ETS is a fraud.

John Key should face up to reality that the science around Climate Change is now so hopelessly compromised that he should withdraw the ETS until other bodies such as the House of Commons have completed their investigations of CRU and the Indian Government has look closely at Dr. Pauchari. It was an egregious risk to run off to Copenhagen with our ETS in place and no other country in the world having any such scheme. The gamble hasn’t paid off, Nick “Quota” Smith should resign.

    Hey Whale,

If you want to give a good average temperature range, it sounds a really good idea to start with 6000 temperature source, remove 4500 of them, mostly from colder areas, with the remaining 1500 from mainly warm areas. You do however leave the 4500 in as historical data. So when you show decade on decade temperatures it not surprisingly shows temperatures as rising.

As you have removed 4500 data sources you still need to show temperatures in these areas. So the simple solution is to average the temperature from the nearest remaining sources, even if they are 1200 miles away. It seems the country of Bolivia has its temperature determined by readings taken in Peru and the Amazon basin.

Pinko Farrar follows orders from the Beehive, the Penguin's political masters. Farrar will never contradict the official line.

He and his Curia business are mouthpieces of the National Party. His blog is rapidly becoming a joke.
The Penguin should show some independent thinking and take a shot at unpopular policies, such as the Emission Trading Scheme.

Imagine if the media did its job and pointed this Glaciergate hoax out to Smith.
Our cost of living is going to go up again this year. Don't they care?

  • Mawee

I'm just afraid it's too little, too late. Climate Change is so institutionalised. The UN might clean the house out now but the IPCC won't go away. Too many people have too much investigated in the existence of climate change. They will simply look for a new scare to harness the masses, gain power and take all our money.

    Where are the celebrities now?

  • The Gantt Guy

Time for “Smile & Wave” to send “Quota” Smith out to pasture and give the job of unravelling the ETS rort to “Crusher”. The ETS has gotta go before NZ becomes even more impoverished than it already is after a decade of envy, spite and wealth redistribution.

Theres a rumour that our very own Dr Andy Reisinger is in a relationship with Dr Paucharis daughter.
"Andy" is currently on maternity leave….

I find this funny, this glacier thing and the paroxysms of ecstasy that you are all tripping on .

Have a look at this from the Climate Debate Daily [set up by Dennis Dutton, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brendan-demelle/cli

there is also a second article http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/201

    Kind regards

    Bill

    • Pete

Hey Bill, glad you think it is funny. Personally, I don't see any humour in the institutionalised corruption of science and fraud to support a particular agenda. It is pointless citing the same tired old gatekeepers who are at least partially responsible for this mess. Real Climate is a mouthpiece for Hansen, Mann et al, and is rapidly losing credibility.
Everyone knows that most glaciers are receding , and have been since the LIA. The key question is are they receding faster than they should and is this increased rate of decline attributable to AGW. This is what needs to be addressed honestly and openly.
What the IPCC did was 1)suppress scientific evidence suggesting that these glaciers were not receding faster than expected and 2) promote speculative opinions based on a telephone interview as fact, and then suppress dissenting opinions in the review process. This undermines the foundations of the whole report. It is not just that they got one fact wrong. It is that the whole report was premised on this one fact that is the issue. Once the key premise of the report is debunked what is left? Not a whole lot, I would submit. Geez, Bill they couldn't even get the basic physical facts of the glacier system right. And then on the basis of this bunkum they went out and sourced research grants. Wake up Bill! Smell the effluent.
The real victim here is science and those reputable scientists (both pro and con) who do good work. What a pity our understanding is not advanced but is set back.
But then I guess sense of humour is an individual thing eh, Bill.
      Pete.

What i think is funny is your hysterical comments. You should get a grip and open your eyes. Focussing on one para from a 900 odd page report smacks of creationists who have nothing to add rather than pick holes in others work.

You over-egg the pudding in your comments above. Read the links that i sent. and you may be able to remove the blinkers.

You sound like a conspiracy theorist, I prefer cock up to conspiracy every time.

So called weather ANALyst philip duncan and niwa pricipal scientist Jimmy Renwick should be both fired for this absolute billshit article in todays heraldhttp://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_i

    • Bill Ramsay

why? i read as fair and reasonable to me.

Your emphasis on ANAL at the start of analyst gives you away. If you have a problem with the article, write in, and detail what you find objectionable.

As Hitchens says, 'What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof'. ergo, you're wrong.

I agree it was bullshit, he said scientists dont get into politics? Crap.

The govt gets its information from so called climate scientists, unfortunately, the information has to be filtered through politicians who have a vested interest in keeping the warming theory going.

There has been no global warming that is statistically significant since 1995. Any warming or cooling has been within natural variability.

Check the facts on the four big global climate datasets.

  • The Silent Majority

Nick Smith should be fired and Rodney Hide or John Boscawen installed in his place.

    • Bill No Name

Rodney Hide will be on holiday, try John Boscowen

  • Pete

Hey Bill, none so blind as those who can't see! Hysterical, wow! What I find so endearing about you AGW types is how readily you go from rational to emotional.
Firstly, both of your sources are on my regular reading list. Realclimate is nothing more than a PR effort for Hansen, Mann et al. As such they stifle debate, engage in ridicule (much like you) and regularly fail to respond to serious issues except by way of personal attacks. The Huffington Post just ignores on side of the debate. That is not to say of course that there are not Skeptic sites that do the same thing!
To repeat it is not just one paragraph in a 900 page report – it is the central tenet of their argument. A proposition which was pointed out by more than one reviewer to be just plain wrong. Those reviewers comments were ignored, so we have both a significant error in fact, and a massive issue with process. We also have a repudiation of the main thrust of the document.
Apart from this as I pointed out they managed to state that the Himalayan glacier system was 10 times its actual size. They totally stuffed up the % contribution of glacier melt to the water system in the region. In defending their highly politicised report they went so far as to attack the Indian Governments own scientific review calling it 'voodoo science and unpeer reviewed'. Wrong on all counts again.
This is not only a major shambles it has destroyed the IPCC's on credibility. There is not much right with AR4 which is a pity as most people are genuinely interested in knowing the real state of the science and the glaciers. In fact the most recent peer reviewed study indicates that the Himalayan glaciers are not retreating at a rate faster than expected. In other words it can't be said that there is anthroprogenic influence in the glacier melt.
So, Bill why don't you stick to arguing issues and facts rather than engaging in petty personal attacks? Oh, wait…. there are no facts you can bring to bear, are there!
    Cheers,
    Pete.

    • Bill Ramsay

Pete. There's more to climate issues than the glaciers and tree rings. Have a look at http://www.skepticalscience.com/ and see how most of the climate skeptics canards are put to one side.

I picked up an interesting item on the IPCC, it's taken from http://www.oneclimate.net/2010/01/08/note-for-sce

The IPCC is a scientific body. It reviews and assesses the most recent scientific, technical and socio-economic information produced worldwide relevant to the understanding of climate change. It does not conduct any research nor does it monitor climate related data or parameters. Thousands of scientists from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC on a voluntary basis. Review is an essential part of the IPCC process, to ensure an objective and complete assessment of current information. Differing viewpoints existing within the scientific community are reflected in the IPCC reports.

      Kind regards

      Bill

This Whole thing was created by Al Gore and Being driven by Obama's Green energy advisor, Who Is a man named Geoffery Immelt, Immelt is the Chairman and CEO of General Electric. That has Lobbyd Obama To let them build Millions of wind powered turbines. Obama has said that if car factories close we will open new factories building wind turbines. General Electric is the parent company of Universal-NBC.
The same company that ownes MSNBC that makes foxnews seem moderate. 5 Years ago Immelt decieded to turn msnbc into the democratic mouthpiece to push GE's Green energy Platform and the whole global warming debate.

Climate change may (or may not) be happening … but what I object to is the institutionalisation of "Climate change" into some sort of global cause … lets face it, we don't know if the global changes are anthropogenic or natural, we dont know how fast they're happening and faux science like:

"Oh, okay… lets use tree rings… wait they're compromised… wait we can use some tree rings and some surface detections… wait isn't that confounding of data (sssshhhhhh)… wait, if tree rings are compromised after 1960, then how do you know that they were at all reliable, I men maybe the same plant phenomenon happened in 1460? response "Shhhhhhh"

    is not helping anyone!!!

    Yours,
    a scientist

All this scare about climate changing and Global Warming is a big farce. A lot of the people are paid by the government to look into the effects of this false warming.
Warming and Cooling are on hundreds of year cycles.
I understand when NIWA submitted data about global warming to make it look good they submitted data from sites that only got warmer when in fact the sites that were cooler were not submitted.
Announcers on Radio Live etc keep trying to pedal the global warming bullshit.
Here are some links to look at.
    http://www.fcpp.org/types.php?type_id=54&topic=;2;
    Here is some more info.
Politics of Climate Science: Selective Research, Ignored Facts – August 3, 2009
Generally the public is unaware water vapor is 95% of the greenhouse gases by volume and CO2 is less than 4%, yet water vapor is virtually ignored. The role of clouds are a major failure of the computer climate models. Why is water vapor ignored? Part of the answer is excessive, deliberate and political focus on CO2. Part is because water is taken for granted and few are aware of the unique physical and chemical properties that make it different from most other elements on the planet.
    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/alexsingleton/9353067/bbc-admits-it-knew-about-false-statistics-but-carried-on-using-them/
There is plenty more data around to prove these false claims.

There is nothing coming out now on the global warming bullshit that wasnt known a year or more ago, its just that the media has been forced into printing the truth on the slowly unraveling bucket of shit that is the IPCC.

What is scary is that our own prime minister was sucked into the bullshit like a Jew into a Synogogue.

Remember people its not about climate change, its about global warming science fiction.
