Trevor “Tiger” Mallard is a little upset with me. Fancy a senior MP losing his rag so much that he resorts to calling people he barely knows idiots.

He must be having a bad time juggling all those mistresses, perhaps he should give the golfer a call for mistress management tips.

Either that or start acting like a senior MP you meathead.

      Well, yes.

      The left tends to use emotiva arguments — what is explained in philopshy 101 as the YAY and BOO technique — if we say YAY it is good, and the reverse. Calligng Whale Oil insane, or and idiot, or worse (all said in last 24 hours) is a textbook example of this. So was Helen's description of people as wreckers.

      This is a lousy argument. The problem is that progressivism has been shown to fail — by their own crieria — over the ast 120 years.

      And the raison d'etre of the left is progressivism. We are left with the politics of victimhood and a raging sense of entitlment. Far better to project that on the right.

      Which is a reason why a senior politician would insult Cam — it supports his ego and leads to no loss, for he does not see that Cam may ever vote for him.

    Duck? that’s a seagull…Mallard is spent, his day was done when he wanted to use a Steinlager bottle on the IRB cos they wouldn’t play ball with us last time around RWC. Remember that? I wouldn’t waste time dissing that fool, he’s on a short slide to political oblivion, as is his sometime friend but mainly rival Goff.
    Who in the end cares what these has-beens think?
    Oh and pdm – you ain’t BEEN in the blogs till you’ve been banned! Bloggers by their nature have a hard time accepting points of view that diverge from their own – though at least Whale and Poneke will engage, rather than simply hiffing their toys out of the cot.
    Mr Slater I don’t know you and am not sure I agree with everything you post, but to paraphrase some other idealist I will defend to (someone else’s) death your right to say it. If need be I will certainly be donating to your defence fund.
    The rest of you think about this: if it turns out to be easy to pull Whale down on this, what internet freedom is next? And who is watching your every keystroke since the necessary laws were passed? You MAY be paranoid, but that doesn’t mean the Plod aren’t out to get you…

    Punchy The Duck calling someone (anyone) an idiot is a great example of classic irony. There really isn’t enough irony in the world these days.

    As an aside, I’m not a member of the VRWC, but for those that are, does Cactus Kate’s awarding Punchy her blogger of the year award put her membership at risk? I mean, pinko farrar was kicked out for drinking with leftards. I didn’t read about him giving them any awards, and I’ll assume he at least made them pay.

    Trev stated somewhere that he is not interested in the leadership role in the Party. Hard to believe BUT it seems young labour love him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I thought the Heineken bottle comment was funny at the time. My respect for him disappeared for two reasons:
    1/ the "talk about affairs" comment to Don Brash (Dame Helen said she knew nothing about it). That would be fine until he packed a sad when Tau did the same to him and he resorted to violence.
    2/ His sheep dog impression with Owen Glenn .. his job was to stop a photo op between Owen and Dame Helen .. why, because JK was photographed honging Tama Iti. Micky Cullen slagged JK off for that the a few months later did the the same ,, hypocritical bastard.
