Court Update

My appearances are getting shorter. Yesterday I was informed that the Crown was trying to add bail onto my charges. This was ultimately doomed to failure because you can’t add bail with custodial provisions onto a summary charge with no custodial sentence. This morning as I enetered court I found that they had had a re-think after a very strongly worde3d discussion with my lawyer.

I plead not guilty to all five charges and was remanded at large for another three weeks when we will have a status hearing.

Lastly I have been informed that another two charges will laid for The North Shore Teacher and the Nelson person of National Significance. Pffft, what happened to the contempt charges, well nothing, if they coulda they woulda is my opinion, but they can’t.

I shall continue on, I am sure another meddling Judge will help the cause at least three more times in the next three weeks.

    Which Nelson person of National significance ? Isn't it a bit soft to keep referring to these people by their demographic identity, and at the same time … technically naming them but not naming them ? Are you or are you not naming them ? If you are going to get arrested and charged might it not make sense to do a good job of the identification ? Just my 2c worth.

    name suppression in this context is another term for pedophile protection, many judges are said pedophiles so perhaps this judge is too?? Sexually molesting, abusing, and using children to get sick – whatever I cant even bring myself to imagine what – then they need to be named, shamed and punished..NOW.

    I have a grandson who goes to a day care here in Palmie, are you allowed to tell us what
    Street the day care centre is in? PLEASE… I know he has home detention BUT that is just
    a joke as I have a home detainee living behind me and he is always going out after been checked…

    they do have a primary school across the road from the hospital.
    Just making an observation here, probably "barking up the wrong tree"..

    You are getting special treatment, if you were a real criminal the process would take several years. But this is not about you, it is about maintaining the integrity and public confidence in the justice system. It is high time that the prominent people of this country stopped lying to themselves and us and admitted that the system is broken and that they can only plaster over the crack for so long.Justice for you my son will be swift and severe, because your real crime is telling the truth and we can't have that.

    Home detention? Name suppression is bad enough but home detention ( with a tv and computer) ??? Give him 250 hours of community service cleaning out and collecting bedpans in an elderly care home. In his overalls and gloves he will be anonymous, no one there will know who he is.

    This crime enables the perpetuators of child abuse. Without people wanting to download 300,000 images children would not be stolen or bought, and heinous acts committed on them. This crime is on the scale of child abuse and we need to treat it that way. Yes, I am almost more upset at the ridiculous sentence than I am at the name suppression. I assume this guy can ably work from home, on his computer????

    I'm a teacher in ECE and we have a philosophy in our setting which focus's on respectful teaching and learning which supports the integrity and identity of child and their families.
    What sort of message are these so called judges sending us and our teachers, children, families, and communities. Let us real practitioners hold the key to such moral decisions and see who's head should roll. This is unjust fully and wrongfully all about the protection and well-being of the perverse twisted society.I say if the hat fits let him wear it!

    Pleased the bail attempt was squashed. If a convicted collector of child abuse photo's can get name suppression, anything is possible. Great to see some sense was applied.
