Ewen Gilmour to stand for Super City mayoraltyEwen Gilmour is set to announce his candidacy for the Auckland Supercity Mayoralty.

A member of The Whale’s loyal army of secret agents whispered into the tipline that the day of his announcement will be Sunday. Except of course you heard it here first.

I am sure John Banks will welcome enthusiastically Ewen Gilmour to the race which now officially has 3 candidates.They could campaign together as Banksie has a motorcycle too.

I don’t think that Len Brown will be too happy about the news though. he was going to need those Westie votes to shore up his Manukau power base which won’t get him over the line with their votes alone.

    he announced it at commedy fest. stated first action to split Auckland into 7 seperate entities, and his campaign slogan will be “fuck, yeah!”

    That’s good news. He can siphon off the bogan loser vote, so the grown-ups can elect an adult candidate. Now all we need is an adult candidate.
