The image says it all. Labours no intention of reversing any increase in GST and Mangrove has signaled increases in Income tax as well. They need to come clean.

    Indeed.

And of course, if National raises GST while lowering taxes to compensate, when Labour gets back in – whenever – it will raise taxes again at least to previous levels.

So any rise in GST now will in fact be a genuine tax increase over time, rather than a partial reallocation of the tax burden from income to expenditure.

A tax is a tax. How many times is tax added to things – and how many times is tax added to a tax. When does an increase in tax become a decrease in tax in real terms. Why does the lord giveth and the lord taketh away … and blessed be the name of the lord (by the time you get to the end of that drivel … you’ve forgotten the original question and some AH has your money.

I dont know – and i think like the emporers new clothes…

a lot of people are embarassed to request a straight answer.

    Cheers G

When they (the big 2) agree with each other on things that Kiwis vote against (tax increases, legalisation of homosexuality et al) what differences do they show from Telecom and Vodafone? They are in it for themselves not you and I and all more the reason to promote lawlessness and anarchy against the status quo…A tax is a tax? How come my student loan, (Principle 12k) has 9000 dollars worth of penalty payments on it? How the hell can it be worth double the value and IRD be claiming 20% of my GROSS wage. Plus SL payments, plus standard 26% tax. How is that fair to anyone apart from the cock who pushes the button and deprives my children of clothing and food unless I skimp and save and go without dental or doctor care? Its not and none of the politicians give a shit because those are things they will never have to worry about it. Be glad I dont have an anger problem, a gun and a clock tower within walking distance :D
