Investigate drops bombshell on Labour

All available lines to New York will be taken up tonight by Labour as they seek guidance from Helen Clark after Ian Wishart dropped a bombshell on Labour in the latest issue of Investigate. This is an epic Tory party style sex scandal, except all the players are Labour elite. It’s got the lot, gay sex, drunken parties, drugs, troughing and bribery.

The article is huge and can be summarised as follows:

Claims Tim Barnett encouraged a 14 year old to leave school to work in his office. Is this grooming?
Claims former Mayor Gary Moore also part of enticement with job offers. Labour pals stick together.
Truancy Officer was Labour supporter and aided and abetted truancy. More pals involved.
Government money used to fly 14 year old numerous times around country. Troughing.
Given free reign around parliament and Beehive as a 14-15 year old. WTF!
Had Speaker Jonathan Hunt intervening in favour of 14 year old with security at Parliament. What else was Hunt involved in?
Alleges Tim Barnett confides in 14 year old about Helen Clark, Heather Simpson and Judith Tizard being involved in lesbian affairs. First time this has aired in a major publication to my knowledge.
Alleges Chris Carter was phoned and intervened on 14 year old’s behalf with CYFS to release 14 year old.
Chris Carter denies knowing Hamish Jevan Goulter but Goulter has photos of Carters wedding on his Facebook page. Oh dear!
Chris Carter denies Goulter at wedding. Pants on Fire?
Chris Carter “remembers” pinging Goulter in parliament and “sending him home” to Christchurch. Very strange explanation
Investigate holds emails between Goulter and Chris Carter arranging wedding details Has Carter lied?
Barnett alleges that Goulter was trying to trace his birth mother and was emotional. Very strange reply to serious questions. How very intimate of Barnett to know all about the state of mind of a 14 year old.
Lianne Dalziel knowing Goulter but Investigate publishes a photo of them together. Oh dear, can Lianne ever tell the truth?
Dalziel apologises to Goulter in a Facebook chat for denying she knew him. Liar, Liar, pants on Fire.
Tim Barnett and Labour functionary and ADHB board member Dr. Ian Scott conspire to get drunk Goulter off work to continue partying. More grooming behaviour, two drunk older gay men assisting a drunk underage teenager to abscond from work.
Tim Barnett provided taxpayer funded taxi-chits to Goulter regularly. Oh they do trough don’t they.
Alleges Helen Clark overrode Jacinda Ardern on issue of Goulter drinking at Premier House. Jacinda Ardern so far is the only Labour person who looks like and acts like a person with responsibility.
Drank frequently with Michael Cullen, Lianne Dalziel, Ruth Dyson, and Annette King. Old soak eh Lianne? Always on the turps.
Goulter alleges he spent considerable time in Jonathan Hunt’s office and flat, alleges he could do what he likes.
Goulter alleges that Tim Barnett, his partner Ramon, Chris Carter, Charles Chauvel regularly smoked marijuana with him.
Alleges Chris Carter and him were in regular contact and Carter enjoyed being out with “twinkies”.
Alleges Michael Cullen also smoked Marijuana at Labour Conference.
Carter says “no cigarette has passed his lips in 30 years”. Interesting choice of description. I have never heard of a joint referred to as a “cigarette”.
Goulter alleges that Tim Barnett made homosexual advances on him.
Goulter alleges Barnett made him sit down on a chair with him, and lunged and tried to kiss him.
Goulter was at one time under the “care of the Speaker’s Office”. Whatever that is supposed to mean.
Alleges Judith Tizard paid Mika hush money to keep Goulter quiet in election year via Arts grants. I always wondered what Tizard actually did, now we know, she allegedly paid the bribes.

This is a truly spell-binding article. The details are very clear but I don’t doubt that there is a fair bit of embellishment. Basically Jacinda Ardern is the only person coming out of this story looking completely normal, sensible even. That must surely be a worry for the Labour Party if Jacinda Ardern looks sensible.

Tim Barnett is pictured, by Goulter, as a typical poof, preying on/grooming youngsters and trying to cheat on his partner. Basically a mini-me Chris Carter with out the camel jockeys. It is clear that Goulter is (or was) a teenage star-chaser and no doubt rated his access a lot higher than the reality was.

However you have to ask what possible motive could a member of parliament have for allowing a troubled teen who has basically been exited from school hang around with him to the extent that he did.

Barnett has been caught lying and so has Chris Carter. Especially the wedding angle. And that sad old poof Jonathon Hunt needs to be asked some hard questions too.

This story shows pretty much the entire senior echelon of Labour with the exception of Jacinda Ardern and Phil Goff (ironically described as “a bit of a nobody”) seem to be a bunch of fag-hags, pederasts and perverts who once they get a little bit of power will use it unwisely.

The one who got caught out in the biggest lie however was Lianne Dalziel who facebooked to Goulter how she had lied about knowing him! Actually I would go so far as to call it outrageous that a child is allowed to attach himself to the inner core of the Labour government, with access to parliament to seemingly come and go as he pleases and have what can only be described as an inappropriate relationship with non family adult males.

Barnett’s alleged comments about the bulldog and the Clark/Simpson/Tizard triangle of terror is priceless. Pure gold.

One thing that doesn’t hold true to me about the traditional description of Clark’s Labour governemnt is that it doesn’t appear that Heather Simpson knew anything about it otherwise the kid’s bum would be whacked back to Mincer Mika faster than you could say “oh Helen”. I simply can’t imagine she would be loose enough politically to let an uppity, teenage bi-sexual drama-queen near the circle of influence. I know real bad pun.

The one thing in Goulters favour is he had the good sense to call Tony Milne and Michael Wood names…plus he hates Jacinda, and writes off Young Labour as “a bunch of smelly fat unattractive people”. Two words people, Sonny and Thomas.

A truly bizarre account of the inner working of Labour. Now we watch and see what falls out. There are certainly some large inconsistencies in the stories but also some information that could only have been gleaned by actually being there on the inside.

Meh. Whatever Wishart publishes is ignored by the MSM out of spite, so it never gets any legs. If this leads to resignations and/or court cases, I’ll log on with my real credentials WO. (No point offering to eat a hat)

It does however show how basically and thoroughly corrupt the Labour Party had become. It also explains how the Carters of the world continue with the sense of Teflon Entitlement they are displaying.

It is going to take another 10 years for the rotten core to retire out of Labour. Policies aside, we can but hope they don’t manage to groom their successors with the same set of expectations and standards.

This goes to show how PC Labour is. Would anything have been said if the 14 year old was a girl and the MP a heterosexual male? I think something would have been said. I can only assume that many Labour MPs and party officials were scared to say too much for fear of being accused of being homophobic. if you listen to this young fellow being interviewed on Radio – i gather, recently – you may come to the conclusion that this may (not certainly – but may be) a little deluded and grandstanding and enjoying primping and posturing. If it all turns out to be true – good reporting Mr Wishart and good ‘repeating’ and secondary regurgitation (pity it isnt ambergris … thats worth something but only Sperm Whales do that i think) mr whale – if its not – then i guess the ‘shit’ really will hit the fan.

I admire Ian Wishart – the paradise conspiracy is one of the greats of new zealand journalism – maligned nonetheless by many. But even he can or could be taken in. chuck – i understand and appreciate the statement re a 14 year old youth etc etc …. the comment listed above yours gives an interesting aside to the bias (perhaps) given in the post on whales blog. From personal experience – i’ve seen more damage done to the youth of NZ from pastors and elders of christian churches (NON roman catholic in the numerous instances i have seen) and also Scout Masters and sports coaches around this nation and some school teachers (including private school teachers etc) – to start worrying about some privileged grandstander who now cries foul ( the aforegoing is only opinion … not established fact) He may be telling the truth – but he should have gone to the police – not the media. Or is there more to this than meets the eye.

kulturkampf,the issue is not just if Barnett was grooming the boy but why he was allowed to do all the things he did and no senior MP put a stop to it quickly. A you person could get to a function and have too much to drink once. DPF mentioned he made a mistake of take a young girl to a National function and not keeping an eye on her. However, even allowing for a fair bit of exaggeration this is not a good look for a party that floated the idea of lowering the age of consent to 12.

Attention seeker – I will not deny, Dillusonal – most definitely not – troubled young 14 year old -I would say misled, falsely guided 14 year old, but a liar , no.
I had this on my chest for a long time, not all of the details of which were revealed however Ian did his job as a journalist and questioned me on all aspects.
I understand how these things I have said are hard to believe. When we talk about attention seeking let’s put this in perspective. People will form the opinions they want to or what they percieve to be as me however the reality is I have told my story and that is it.
I am taking a serious stand in running for the Wellington City Council election, you might support me you might not, however as I mention in the story I never expected 1- everybody to believe me 2- to come out at the end looking good or 3- to gain anything personally or politically from this. Great I made a cover of the magazine however open it up and read the content and all it does is make potential voters sceptical. I realized this and what I was doing. I was telling my story and had a fair idea of the reaction I would get.
I’m a 21 year old , bi sexual , Maori-pacific islander and I went to possibly one of the most right wing journalists to do this. Does that make me look good to my own community, to my gay friends to my Maori friends. No ofcourse not, so when accussing me of being a liaing attention seeking troubled young boy with sour grapes realise what I have had to do and considor in the process well doing this. I have not come out looking great, Probably considored untouchable to some however my story is out and I’m back to running my campaign.
This site is obviously full of a number of people who do not agree with people like myself when reading the article at the top although that does not deter me.
I think when reading the article myself, (I was extremely worried with what he was saying about me) I may have been upset the first time however when reading through it again and again I think it has turned out very balance, with the reality being there is a lot of he said – he said and different side disagreeing with each other although I hope to some readers the parts where people have blatently lied is notable and
obvious. Ian did not right what he thought of the situation he went to them and asked
for their statements to so it was written fairly
and although I am not shining like an angel I think a number of the answers are very flaky, questionable and weak which was proven to.

The point here which everyone seems to be missing is that Jevan was 14-15 at the time. Put this in another context. A school camp where the teachers get to have a little pet who they ply with booze and drugs and then try to jump. Child Abuse? Of course it is and there would be criminal charges laid. Jevan was a minor then. He was drinking and someone gave him the alcohol and the drugs. Someone let him live life on the large and what 14 y. o. would want to live on the large.

If it were Nat Mps doing this the howls of outrage from the left would have been deafening. That the left has said NOTHING speaks volumes for their ethics, and their standards. Just compare the attitude of The Standard in the Richard Worth affair, and that was between consenting adults.

I don’t believe I have said anything about vote for me because I’m pretty lol, Lambtom Ward is one of the most politically savvy voting wards in the country and if I wanted to win because I thought I was a “pretty face” then quite frankly
I would go and stand Porirua.
In refereneces to Cullen, this was in a backyard style enviroment, outdoors of a pub where there were no media or securtiy other than those at the doors, the actual bar itself was still open but closed and blocked of to the public. In terms of Helen being Coma’d in Premier house she was starting to get drunk, I pressume because she was around friends in her home , when she Started to get drunk she was not carried away however it was obvious people close to her were walking with her away as I guess when you run the country you have to be up in the morning and that would be calling it a night !

I’m not defending myself, I feel that when I see people who appear to be somewhat intelligent raising questions and with doubts then there is no reason for me not to talk directly.
Why did I not go to the police, do you know how scary it is sitting in a room with a bunch of people including police officers pushing you to talk and lay charges about something you find embarrasing and humilating to talk about?

Thank you Jevan for fronting. Kudos to you. However, I have a lot of reservations about all these allegations. I am not a Labour person and would have loved to see them flush their heads down a toilet. But, I look at what you have said and cannot help thinking that this has been a load of half truths, fabrications and misrepresentations of the true story. It is hard to look at this with any credibility. I really disagreed with Michael Cullen’s policies, but I cannot see him puffing on the dac. He was far to stiff for this, hence why he lasted for 9 years as a finance minister. I really struggle to believe that you would have free reign around ministers’ homes and rubbing shoulders with the political elite during garden parties at Premiere house. Clarke and the Tizz having lesbian affairs, while the jury may still be out, your fantasy is as good as mine.

That said, If it is true, It bothers me that Government Ministers allowed you to be truant from school and as a 14, 15 year old plied you with alcohol and used you as a play thing. It seems far fetched that you may have been statutorily raped by Ministerial troughers.

In conclusion I look into this, and think something may have happened, but nothing nearly as sensational as written in this article. That said, I do question the ethic of some Labour MPs at the time. I feel that you have been deprived of finishing your education. If you did have problems at the time, I really hope efforts were made at the time to address them as now at the age of 21 you will be a better person for it.

Classic over reaction grizz … i think you need to re – read what whale has said and what Jevan has said … why is the word “rant” used so freely on this site??

If a christian states they are a christian and uses that belief paradigm as a basis for comment .. ie Whale believes the entire resources of the world are his to use till exhaustion … and other tenets of that faith … then that is fair game as a point of reference for judgement of same… just as the Christian uses their paradigm to judge those outside the ‘pale’ of their belief system… (as yet unspecified).

Frankly Grizz – I think there is a freight train and more of things unexplained by Whaleoil about his beliefs and how they mould his approach to life. Grizz – some muslims in fact many … regard you and i as infidels and unbelievers .. now .. how do fully believing christians view non believers…

Also – with regard to the young man in question who says he is bi sexual … how does Whales church and whale view him and his life practice … what is the answer….

As it is on this issue, religion may be irrelevant because whether he is a homophobe as the young age of Jevan is what whale is mentioning as the problem.
I do agree with your point early though about Jevans motives in approaching the media first.

I do wonder how he can think he is ready to run for public office though if he hasn’t laid a formal complaint. It is understandable not to at a young age but NZ law does seem to accomodate historical claims.

Javan, I take sex with a minor very seriously. If someone is over 21 and they have sex with someone under 16 I view that very seriously. If the younger person is sexually experienced that does not make it acceptable. If the person is considerably over 21 and uses their position as a lure that makes things worse.

So yes whilst DPF does believe the main outline of the story (14 year old running around parliament), he doesn’t believe the main allegations. But anyways, thats just one man’s take on it.

hagues, even Wishart is not claiming Javan’s claims about Barnett trying groom him or something similar are true. However, it seems DPF believes that Labour MPs acted quite inappropriately towards a 14 year old and others turned a blind eye to this.

I am a member of the ACT party. I do not hold a position but if I was at a function and seen an adult brought a 14 year old who was not his or her child and allowed him or her to drink I would have said something.

This is not a good look for Labour who have some odd ideas about children’s rights and parental authority.

He floated the idea in 2004. Surprisingly, there was some support as there was to be a 2 year maximum age gap. Even with that the idea was flaky especially when combined with other laws that undermine parental authority.

This is another reason not to have Labour in again even though National is just marginally better.

I am a little upset that you feel the need to bring an unrelated issue regarding my late friend who is no longer with us into this discussion, I think that is absolutely distgusting and irrelevant however I guess you will try and throw as much mud at me whereever you can find it.

In regards to naming this rich business man in Auckland, it is of no secret who this person was, and he is still looking over his shoulder today. Kudos to you for trying to find something to smack me in the face with but I suggest in future you do a little bit more homework.

In regards to an earlier post where I ran an event and took all the money, I suggest before saying that “I did that” when you can not recall correctly the event or scenario maybe you should research that a little better as well ! If you do this you will see I submitted accounts and reports online for all to see and it was blatently obvious and clear that no body had been ripped off.

My advice to you would be do not run for a council seat just yet. At least not until you can sit down with the police and put together a statement. You know deep down that you must do this, so don’t hide behind your goals and dreams). Criminal charges obviously need to be laid for the offences that took place. You were a child at the time, an unaccompanied minor.
Once you have removed this giant obstacle you will find the way forward is far less daunting.
