Ditch E.T.S remit passed unanimously

Global Warming is a FraudSince no-one has blogged, not even the repeaters, then I guess it falls to me to reveal that at the weekend National Party CNI conference a remit was submitted and passed unanimously.

The remit was for National to ditch the ETS. As I said it passed unanimously.

At least some in the party have got their heads screwed on right.

I wonder when Nick Smith and John Key will start to listen?

  • hagues

Who are the people that vote on the remits? Is it the politicians or the party members?

Regardless of whether NZ’s ETS is a good or bad thing, I find it absolutely incredible that you can deny humans cause global warming.

You have a “feeling” or a “hunch” that climate change is not caused by humans, and you ignore statements such as the one signed by 255 scientists from the US National Academy of Sciences – who “probably” know a little more than anyone who posts here (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/climate-change/news/article.cfm?c_id=26&objectid=10643995)

    You’d rather listen to:
    (i) your own gut-feeling (perhaps because man-made climate change would be really annoying),
(ii) a hand full of “scientists” who are paid by oil companies (google them – it’s easy to find their links back to exxon-mobil, etc),
(iii) or perhaps the invisible man in the sky (the invisible flying spaghetti monster is much more believable).

Yes there are a few errors in some scientific papers, but other so-called causes of a warming atmosphere have been well and truely eliminated.

If you try to argue with “oh but there was a colder winter in x part of the world” then you really have no understanding at all of the issue.

  • whalewatcher

If they ignore this one, they will be gone by lunchtime.

there is Pollution, and there is Global Warming. We can influence one, not the other..

  • megashitstirrer

    Its a fuckin disgrace.

    Joes

What an uninformed warmist dork you are coming up with a crap repeater blog like that. You can come up with only 255 scientists?

Have you not seen this http://www.petitionproject.org/

Somehow I think my dick is bigger than yours.

Go away – we are educated and fully informed on global warming at Whale Oil.

  • hagues

@joes “If you try to argue with “oh but there was a colder winter in x part of the world” then you really have no understanding at all of the issue.”

If you think that is our argument then it is you who has no understanding of the issue.

First of all the global tempuratures have been declining for over a decade (heard of ‘hide the decline’?). The amount of warming prior to that was exaggerated, or even made up. Climate change (in both directions) has been going on for centuries, long before man started using fossil fuels.

“a hand full of “scientists” who are paid by oil companies (google them — it’s easy to find their links back to exxon-mobil, etc)”

Haha whatever, and I suppose you think Al Gore et al. are promoting carbon trading out of the goodness of their hearts.

  • joes

Your responses are very poor I’m afraid.

Calling me a repeater and then providing a link to a website yourself? Good on ya mate. Where is *your original* climate research that you have not repeated from somewhere else?

I never claimed that the 255 were a complete and exhaustive list of those that believe humans influence the climate. It was an example of a group from the National Academy of Sciences – the cream of the crop. Not a random group of name signers are probably fake, have arts degrees, or believe in invisible magical being in the sky lovers. There are plenty of examples of people gaining degrees – following along with what is taught in the lectures – just so they can say “hey look I’m a PhD so I know what I’m talking about and those other PhD’s are wrong”.

Dick insults. Awesome, what a great way to demonstrate your level of education. As does your involvement on a far right-wing blog (I come here to laugh at labour FYI).

Hagues, you have taken the comment out of context (as they so often are). I didn’t say that was everyone’s opinion. But I do hear it all too often so threw it in there.

I also always hear “climate change has been going on for centuries”. Of course it has. I challenge you to find one pro-human influence scientist who denies that it has. Infact this graph shows that this is true:

    http://www.koshland-science-museum.org/exhibitgcc/images/historical02.gif

Except the next graph shows how the amount of carbon released to the atmosphere (starts increasing with the industrial age, just before the temperature changes) and the resulting temperature change.

    http://www.koshland-science-museum.org/exhibitgcc/images/historical03.gif

Explain that. A global conspiracy of scientists – and also non-scientists out to make money? I don’t give two shits about Al Gore. Why try to hassle him when you instead believe people who are sponsored by oil companies? “Haha whatever” is not a response.

    @joes,

Go back to the Red Blurt or Strandard and get your gold star. What a tosser.
Meamwhile, how come the MSM repeaters are not reporting? do they think the decision that was passed is a trick?

  • tommyteflon

Sorry to interrupt (coitus) but joes might not appreciate the environmental impact of his most recent contribution has just increased the core temperature of the south island (FFS he’s obviously part Chinese already) by an incredible 0.3 degC. Carry on you lot, I’m going to watch some John Clarke and Brian Dawe “interviews” for some serious debate on the issues that matter.

  • joes

Never been to those websites. I sit in the centre-right. But thanks a lot for your suggestion. I appreciate your inability to reply otherwise.

  • bogusnews

    joes,

I have real problems accepting the whole AGW thing. Amongst the issues I have are:

    1. Mankind only produces about 3% of the total CO2 that goes into the atmosphere every year. It isn’t clear to me why the 3% that we produce should have such a dramatic effect over the 97% that occurs naturally.

    2. Currently CO2 is at about 388 parts per million. Over the last 300 million years however it has averaged between 1000-1200 parts per million. I’m not clear on why a few extra ppm is such a big deal.

    3. And of course, the fact that there has been no global warming for 15 years, and global cooling for the last seven doesn’t help much either.

  • joes

    Thanks for the decent reply.

Unfortunately each of your three points can be proven to be incorrect with the various links & graphs that I provided above. I don’t have time right now to re-post them, but if you are interested in reviewing that data, I’m sure that you would be enlightened.

  • megashitstirrer

Bullshit joes, you are believing what you read from wankers who have no independence because you are a socialist, left of centre.

You have not passed comment on the many thousands of reputable science people that disagree with you and your looney warmist mates.
