I wonder if they will drop the charges on me now

I was charged with naming this now convicted kiddy fiddler teacher.

Name suppression has been lifted on a former North Shore primary school teacher who was today sentenced to home detention for sexual grooming and misconduct involving two underage boys.

Michael James Dobbyn, 52, has today been sentenced to 12 months home detention and 250 hours community work for four charges against two boys who were aged 10 and 12 when the first offences took place.

The charges were two of sexual conduct with a young person under 16, and two of meeting a young person under the age of 16 following sexual grooming.

Dressed in a black jacket sports jacket and business pants, Dobbyn shook and clutched onto beams supporting the dock at the North Shore District Court.

The conditions of his sentence are that he does not interact with anyone under the age of 16, the victims, or their families.

He is not allowed to leave his home except to attend doctors or counselling appointments and must complete a Safe course for sex offenders.

He has also been ordered not to go to shops between 3pm and 7pm.

Of course now that we know who he is the public can monitor his behaviour and contact with children. They never could have if his name suppression had remained. It begs the question as to why he had name suppression in the first place. Of course now that he is named I wonder if the Police will continue to pursue the prosecution on this particular charge of mine.

    I would be interested in more facts like why did he get name suppression in the first place? Was it because he pleaded not guilty initially? If he pleaded not guilty then even more questions have to be asked why he got such a lenient sentence.

    I bet the homosexuals will claim this paedophile is not a homosexual. Yeah right.

    Not the point. Suppose the guy was innocent. Several years ago two schoolkids were overheard planning to ‘set up’ a male teacher. The teacher was informed and promptly resigned and left the profession. The risk of remaining was too great even though he knew he was ‘squeaky clean’.

    Chuck – I gave you a ‘thumbs down’. Homosexuality and pedophilia are two separate things – some would indulge in homosexuality, a few in pedophilia and even fewer in both. Agreed a traditional view was that there was correlation. I remember when young being warned to stay away from certain shops on trumped up reasons because the owners were homosexual and hence considered potential pedophiles – which I doubt they were. This was a major argument against de-criminalising sodomy (both homosexual and heterosexual) and repealing the ‘gross indecency’ offence that was enacted in the late 1800′s to make it easy to ‘nail’ homosexuals.

    What are the facts Peterwn? I appreciate the point you are making but I don’t really understand.
    I have known two men who were accused of paedophilia..one was found guilty and sentenced..The other dodged a sentence with the help of his employer together with his age..When all the publicity came out about him he was already an elderly man so with declining health he was never charged..Prior to all of this , I thought very highly of both men. Both were involved with social services..Christian agencies..On both occasions, I was flabbergasted to hear of the accusations against them, I found it incredibly hard to believe but accepted that yes it was true..Their good social standing must have enabled them to keep at it as long as they did and of course one group of victims never saw justice.
    In contrast, when I was living in Asia with my then very pretty son , all the males chasing after him had obvious homosexual tendencies.

    Pedophila and homosexuality are two totally different things.The former is a sexual attraction to pre-puberesent children (usually of either sex)while the latter is an attraction to adult people of the same sex.Yes there are pedophiles who seem to go for boys more but that may be due to who’s availible to molest more than what gender they are.Most pedophiles are men after girls so to use Chuck Birds sick bigoted logic men like him (Hetrosexual…Im assuming)are the biggest risk to children.

    This homosexual offended first against the oldest when he was 12. It does not say how long it continued. If any adult male has sex with a 12 year old boy does that not constitute a homosexual act? if not how about 13, 14 or 15?

    Have you any evidence to support your claim that an adult male who has sex with boys say 10 to 15 never has sex with males 16 or over?

    He abused his position of trust, probably fucked the kids up for life and our courts give him a slap with the proverbial wet bus ticket. Fucking pathetic

    My son was seven when we first went to live in Asia..very pretty , Eurasian. In my earliest weeks there I thought “Goodness the men here wear more makeup than the women.” So many of the waiters at all the food courts were young seemly homosexual men made up to the nines..they were also the waiters in places like Pizza Hutt. They all draped themselves over him and fluffed and fawned..Later when we were more settled there he attended a computer tuition school. My husband and I were friends with the owners..next thing I got a call at home from a very gay sounding young man saying he was my sons computer tutor and saying how much he wanted to hear my sons voice. I then found out that he had been emailing him..Not sure of my son’s age by this time but of course that was the end of the computer tuition.
    This was in a place and a country where homosexuality is very prevalent..old white men , young local boys etc but also supposed to be an islamic country so all the usual hypocrisy going on there.
    A young blond boy we knew almost got kidnapped. Blond children were highly sought after in that part of the world.

    Got any evidence…at all,that Jim was “close” to NAMBLA or supported man boy sex? No you don’t because there is none you bigoted kiddyfiddling risk.Jim left the country to attend a conference in Germany in 2005 and was barred from returning even though no criminal charges were ever bought nor any evidence of any criminal offending was ever produced.The lame excuse offered was that Jim had produced a man-boy love publication called “Unbound” when he lived in San Francisco.Jim had not done so and all there was linking him were a couple of edited out of context pieces he had written (one on his own physical abuse at the hands of his Father when he was a boy,which upset Jim as it was private and never meant to be made public).The thing was that Jim was refered to in the third person in the publication…not something one does in ones own publication.Jim had been cleared by the FBI twice when he moved two South Africa and then NZ….they found nothing on him.Mary Ann Thompson was the offical who decided on Jims case and it was never revealed at the time that she had worked for and was close to Winston Peters…who made the alligations in the first place.Gee…anyone smell a conflict of intrest? Add to that that Jim was a gay man,a Libertarian and critical of Helen Clark and he had no show of justice.

    The funny thing was that it was Winston Peters and only Winston who arranged for a copy of Unbound to come to NZ as evidence making him far more involved in the importation of kid porn into NZ than Peron ever was!

    well i live very close to this guy and he is still being seen by myself and others outside schools and not more than 3 weeks ago watching 8 year old boys playing cricket at bays water park. it was said he could not go out to shops between 3 and 7 but the guy always goes out at that time. always. for a while there he was catching 815 bus in morning on a bus he knew would have kids in uniforms on it. sick man
