Andrew Williams and his four deputies

During the Q+A debate on Sunday, which was a clear win to John Banks, with Len Brown a poor performer on the day, the Mad Mayor Andrew Williams did slightly better than expected, mainly by pandering to the pinkos with grandiose white elephant spending ideas.

One of the Clown from Campbells Bay’s more bizarre ideas was for him to have suggest that there be a deputy Mayor for the North, East, South and West. Quite apart from the fact that the folk on the North Shore haven’t yet grasped the concept that the Super City is supposed to unite the city not divide it with parochialism, you can just imagine who Andrew Williams would have as his deputies.

The four deputies Williams has in mind are mostly likely Jack Daniels of West Auckland, Jim Beam of North Shore, Johnny Walker of East Auckland and Peter Smirnoff of South Auckland, already his closest advisors and colleagues.

I seem to remember three of them allegedly mugged a cabinet minister in the Muldoon government in Molesworth Street in the early 1980′s. No one ever appeared in court over that incident.

I watched for about 20 minutes which was as long as I could stomach. Can’t say anyone came out as a clear victor, however, I do agree that Andrew Williams made a fair amount of sense! I just wish Banks would stop speaking “political speak” and actually tell us what he will do. Platitudes aren’t going to win this election.

@ peterwn – It was the late Keith Allen from memory. From that, the infamous phrase “as diabetic as a newt” was spawned, a phrase later used to describe Muldoon himself.

That’s all John Banks is. He’s a piece of shit salesman.
