Ruth Dyson advocates to abolish G.S.T.

One of my loyal South Island readers has forwarded to me a brochure of up and the up and coming Labour leadership. Of course it was paid for by us the taxpayer, but the whole document would seem to not be a “communication to constituents” It seems more like electioneering and promotion of the Labour Party.

One thing did strike me as odd though. It looks like the future leader of the Labour Party, Ruth Dyson, is planning to abolish GST on everything. She repeatedly talks about National’s 15% GST.

This is an economically strange policy that will cost the economy billions, especially since she hasn’t said how she is going to fund a removal of GST.

No matter though, I’m sure the one of the other leaders in waiting will kindly inform us that this leader in waiting has got it wrong. Andrew Little, the Labour candidate for New Plymouth, The EPMU general secretary, Labour party president will be correcting Ruth shortly as to the true nature of the EPMU Labour policy on GST.

Obviously she is from the ‘soak the rich’ school of taxation – but there are severe limits to that – the ‘rich’ will make sure they are not around to be taxed.

Interestingly the survey does not ask for the person’s cell phone number as a recent one by Grant Robertson did. I think these ‘surveys’ have more to do with harvesting email addresses (and cell phone numbers for txting) than with seeking genuine feedback.

Interestingly too it seems pinko’s survey business is booming at the moment. Thought he could skip the country when things were quiet but found he was telecommuting and and having to control his telepolling boiler-room from the other side of the globe.

In Ruth’s defense, she was probably drunk at the time.

This is a magnificent idea and funding it would be a piece of cake, simply axe the socialist boondoggles. Free student loans, working for families, etc.
