I wonder if the Herald will be charged under s139

Kermadec Crunchy-wasp is in the news again.

An Olympic athlete will stand trial for a second time on charges of raping his ex wife.
The sportsman, who has name suppression, will face two counts of rape and one of male assaults female at a trial at the High Court in Auckland next July.

The man was acquitted of nine charges and a jury failed to reach a verdict on the three other counts at a trial last month.

I am charged under s139 for allegedly naming the victim…which I never did. The NZ Herald has provided exactly the same information, I just bet they don’t get charged. End the burqa of name suppression, it allows defendants to hide behind their victims.

An Interesting Name?

An Interesting Name?

There was a very interesting and relevant comment made today in the SST Whale.

Can’t remember where in the front section it was but he was pointing out the futility of charging anyone here with breaching name suppression when any overseas based news site or online commentator can breach away to their hearts content.

So the `I coulda been a contender is at it again eh?

I take it these are completely fresh charges?

Maybe an overseas based boxing site might be interested in highlighting what becomes of the broken arsed?
