Len's dodgy voter connections

Yesterday I posted this picture. One of my Sikh readers has translated the punjabi for me.

Len Brown and Daljit Singh

Len Brown and Daljit Singh

New Zealand Labour party’s campaign for the success of the Punjabi candidates started
Auckland 25 August (Harjinder Singh Basiala) At the start of the campaign for  the upcoming Papatoetoe  Community Board election NZ’s main opposition Labour party leader Mr Phil Goff appealed to the local community to vote for the Sikh candidates Mr Daljit Singh and Mr Sukhdev Singh Hundal.  Auckland Super City’s mayoral candidate Mr Len Brown, MP Ross Robertson, Sio Williams, Carmel Sepuloni and other leaders held joint campaign meetings in Papatoetoe, Mangere and Otara area and appealed to the local voters to vote for the Punjabi candidates and other Labour party candidates.

Speaking at the meeting Mr Daljit Singh JP who is a Sikh spokesperson and also associated with other charitable organisations and Mr Sukhdev Singh Hundal, said that it is not just a matter of win for the Indian candidates but also will provide a platform for the Indian community to speak for its rights.  If the Indian community help the Indian candidates to win the election and give them a chance to represent itself on the Super City, then these members will take the Indian traditions into account and promote the progress of the local area. It will be a matter of pride for the community to have a representation at the policy making level in New Zealand. Another candidate Mr Efu Koka also spoke at the occasion and appealed to the voters.

So there we have it, a person who is now under police investigation for electoral voter irregularities speaking on behalf of the Indian community and also as part of the Labour party push to get out the Indian vote for Len Brown. Len Brown also appealed to the audience laid on by the dodgy Labour candiate to vote for the punjabi candidates.

If we need to refer to integrity here, let’s just point out that Daljit Singh is a real estate agent. Right that’s settled that issue. I’m just wondering what those Indian traditions are that Mr Singh wants introduced and promoted. Luckily they appear to coincide with Labour Party traditions.
