This global warming thing is a real bastard

Looks like this Global Warming thingy is real hard to pin down.

Heavy rain across much of the country and thick cloud in the south east made for a disappointing end to the summer holiday.

The month also saw the coldest temperature recorded in August for 23 years, with mercury falling to 12.8C in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Isn’t it supposed to be Summer in the UK? Coldest temperature in 23 years….I thought we were burning alive….burning alive I tell you.

Last week a number of nights were “notably” cold and by the end of the month there had not been a single day on which temperatures topped 27C, forecasters said.

Weather consultant Philip Eden said average temperatures this August had been at their lowest since 1993.

We’re burning aliiiiiiiiive!

With temperatures like its no bloody wonder Poms want to live here. Tell you what, I bet the Poms are really wishing there was such a thing as global warming

    Too silly, even for you.

We welcome Pohm’s here – to the South Island anyway – plant them in Alexandra. Widest temperature variation in the country. They’ll feel at home there. Just make them sign an immigration contract that they won’t enter into Trade Union politics.

Aside : Are you up-to-date with your medications? SB, I and others are noticing.

He wrote recently he’s off the meds. I considered that good news. It has its ups and downs, mostly downs at first, but eventually more ups, until the downs become infrequent. Yay. The road back to med-less normality with life full of NORMAL stresses.

I have also gone through the rigours of off-the-meds a few years ago. There are indications that one needs to be aware of – just to manage the effects. I understand, and can assist as required. A hand onl;y needs to be raised. I think WO has the matter substantially under control, with SB at side, but there is always additional assistance as required. An ask is all that is required. We’ve been there.

hey WO.. I’m a Brit and the weather here is not much better than England at the moment it won’t stop raining…. at least the power companies can’t claim power price increases are due to low lake levels. If Brits what to move to NZ it’s definitely not for the weather.. it must be for clean green image???

Drea, at the moment we can blame the weather on winter. It has been crap this year. However we are now moving into our worst season (imho). Spring. Expect yet another typical lousy wet and windy spring.
