Citizen A – 15 October

What does the move to the left reflected in local body elections mean? Knock, knock. Who’s there? Not Paul Henry, what now for public broadcasting in NZ and who will rid me of this troublesome queen? Chris Carter sharpens the knives plus the Last Word.

A few thoughts on the election result:

By creating the super-city have we allowed ourselves to become the permanent hostage of Manukau politics? The place that loved Phillip Fields? Ethnic Socialism. It makes me shudder to even think this.

John Banks was a minister during the MULDOON govt for goodness sake! This election was maybe more about age demographics than the left/right divide. The centre right deserves some new faces.

I think TV3 and the the Herald key elements in the left’s success. If a C&R candidate had been caught with his hand in the credit card cookie jar wouldn’t they have been banging on about it during the entire campaign?

We can only hope that it takes a couple of years for the new council to get organised, thus limiting the damage that Len can do. Meanwhile he is likely to make a complete fool of himself.

Looking forward to seeing who bankrolled Liar Brown, and still !!!!!!!!!!! who was at the dinner.
I believe Auton and wife certainly were there – hence park named after him for keeping quiet over credit card troughing.
