Does Len even believe in democracy?

Len Brown doesn’t believe in democracy. Four of his hand picked legion of groupies were soundly rejected at recent local government elections. Rather than listen to the public, who clearly said they didn’t want them, Len Brown goes and gives them a job running powerful CCOs.

Gary Troup – came 5th in Manukau Ward 2010. Len Brown’s former Deputy Mayor couldn’t even get a rub off from the Messiah himself.

Mike Williams – former Labour Party President was trounced in all three races he stood in. That Labour magic couldn’t get him onto the Henderson-Massey Local Board, Waitemata DHB, or Waitakere Licensing Trust.

And back in 2007:

John Robertson became very unpopular as the Mayor of Papakura. Got thrashed by Calum Penrose to end up being a one-termer. Was a useless MP and, evidently, useless Mayor. Crusher’s no fan either.

Even worse, that ghastly woman, Christine Caughey, was unceremoniously dumped by the good folk of Hobson after spending 3 years as a Hucker/Hubbard lickspittle.

If Len Brown believes in democracy, why is he rejecting the collective wisdom of many thousands of voters in Manukau, Henderson-Massey, Waitemata, Papakura and Hobson?

Because he’s Jesus. “Do as I say, not as I do (within limits)…” is his motto.

Interesting that while Maurice Williamson criticises the appointment of that ‘ghastly woman’ to the NZ Transport Agency Board in 2008, Murray McCully did not criticise her appointment when criticising other appointments to the Board, nor has Stephen Joyce dumped her from the Board. Perhaps she cannot be so ghastly after all, and is obviously doing a good job there.

“Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many… if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.” – Jesus

…yea, and if Jesus was born only 5 miles south of Jerusalem, how come he’s got a Mexican name?

  • orange

Exactly. Wait, I didn’t think “Len” was a Mexican name?

  • jamegumb

And I don’t think Volare is a Mexican restaurant either.

Whats all this hand wringing over Lens hand picked crew.
Dont you think for a minute that The Boag wouldnt be parking her designer clad rear on some Board. And dont you think that Batnagar wouldnt be puuting his hush puupies under boardroom table, all would be certainties if Banks had won.
Some here actually need a bucket of cold water as they seem to have forgotten . Brown W.O.N.
And when did Rodney be all open and transparent about his appointments.
In fact Banks could get a job from len too, if he wasnt such a sore loser.

give that Rumpole of the Baileys & cream Bob Harvey a heave ho- not so hard, just turn up with 5 cameras at a ferry wharf and watch him walk straight into the drink while looking to show his best side.
Banks could do a far better job, without the pomposity, on the Waterfront development board

There were CCOs around for the last council . And many appoitments made by the C$R council and Banks.
Were any of these decisions made in public ?
Perhaps there will be a little enquiry made by Browns office of the relevant Auckland City records. Dont expect Whale to give any results.

    Heres a smoking gun

In particular, the report contains information about a candidates and board members of the Aotea Centre Board of Management.

So there you are Banks and his mates excluding the public when considering appointments!!!
    Who would have thought

    Harpooned !

When Len Borwn was elected there was tremendous good will from Aucklanders of all political persuasions to get on with it. He has let himself down along with the Aucklanders who voted for him with his outrageous cronyism . This is the first nail in his coffin.
