Poor Choices

The Prime Minsiter was castigated for saying that people who use food banks make poor choices. The Slowly Sinking Tabloid pinko hugging editor decided that this was a good excuse to hook into the government this week and so they produce as evidence,“Jack” (not his real name). (No link to actual story due to Bloggers Union action)

BACK AT the Downtown Community Ministry, “Jack” (not his real name) outlines his weekly expenses. From the $240 he receives in benefits, he pays $120 in rent, $50 for cigarettes and $20 on beer. Power is automatically deducted at $25 a week. “By the time I have a bit of fun, that’s dole day gone.”

Nearly a third of his ‘income’ is spent on piss and fags. If that isn’t poor choices then what is?

Next thing we will hear form the pinkos is that the government forces him to drink and smoke more than a third of his ‘income’.

I’d say that most people would look at “Jack” (not his real name) and suggest he get a grip. He is choosing to go without food so he can have beer and ciggies, that is demonstrably a poor choice. The Prime Minister is right.

That is so funny I’m cracking up! The loser probably thinks that fags and piss are necessities. I’m surprised he didn’t include the sky subscription and weekly playboy as well.

If this is someone that this tabloid feels is worth championing, then they have confirmed my suspicions. The best use for the SST is toilet paper for a longdrop.

I think there are a lot of people on benefits that would have been a better example to use – truly odd that they picked someone who spends nearly a third of his weekly benefit on booze and fags…perhaps the paper were trying a bit of reverse pyschology on it’s readers…

grizz, it wouldnt even wipe your ass adequately, the SST is a total crock of shit…

To even put into print that someone needs help if in fact they spend a third of their money on smokes and piss…. Give me strength!

In “Jack’s” instance there appears to be a level of poor choice. Somehow I don’t think that can be said for ALL those on benefits. Shon Key was WAY out of line with that comment, and I guess that will show in November.

John Key never said that about all beneficiaries and for you to suggest that and use a stupid play ion his name shows how out of touch and willing to lie you are.

We won’t need to wait till November, we can find out tonight on TV3.

    • whafe

Show in November!. If you even have a mere thought that it will show in November, you are so far from reality. You pinko’s live in a world of make believe…. Gordon Fucken Bennet!!!!

It seems a little unethical of you to take a few lines halfway down a 4000 word feature and use it to further your ridiculous agenda. How about some context?

    • http://whaleoil.gotcha.co.nz Whaleoil

      How about fuck off.

The fact that this quote was even used in the article actually destroys any of the valid points. It is an Epic FAIL as my 14yo son would say.

For Fuck Sake $70 for cigs and beer!! This is exactly the type of person the PM was talking about I bet he will turn up at various food banks claiming he is too poor to feed himself, as for it being humiliating to have to go to food banks have fuckwitts from places like poverty action or the unemployed workers union never been to South Auckland, I live and work there and I can tell you most of the people I know and work with who go to food banks are not humiliated they just can’t believe people are stupid enough to give away free food

  • jacqueline

There will always be people in every part of our society that makes poor choices. It was wrong of John Key to lump every beneficiary who is struggling and might require extra support in the form of food parcels…together.

Judith Callingham on the Brian Edwards Media Website wrote good response to John Key regarding this.

    • http://whaleoil.gotcha.co.nz Whaleoil

Jacqui, John Key did NOT say that about every beneficiary. that is pinko spin and anything Judy Callingham has to say is labour party spin too.

      • jacqueline

One of these days i will learn to think of the media spin before forming my opinion lol …baby steps. ;)

Un-be-F**KING-lievable! So the long-suffering taxpayer is supposed to feel sorry for this dickhead, and fork out even more because this LOSER has no f**king self-discipline! Arrrrgh…..
No WONDER people are leaving for Aussie in their thousands. It’s because they have had a gutsful of losers like this AND the dickhead lefties who constantly make excuses for them.

Yes, that guy is definitely making the wrong choices.

He spends a third of his income on smokes and drink? Then he complains that he can’t make ends meet? I think that saving that $70 would make all the difference in that.

If he took that money, spent $50 on food, and then invested the remaining $20, what would his outcome be?
