Skulduggery in Rodney Selection?

Skulduggery in RodneyThe tip line is running hot with stories of the National Party selection process in Rodney being hijacked by some fundamentalist Christians.

This blog believes in open, transparent and fair selection campaigns and so will be digging deeply into this story. Hopefully the main stream media will also pick up on it and start asking some questions because internal skulduggery always makes for a good story.

This one certainly sounds like a cracker.

    Meneer Whaleoil, I hear it is the Afrikaaner church that is behind these religious machinations. Word is they have captured one of the branches in the National Party in Rodney. Perhaps they don’t like uitlanders from outside their branch….

    Unless it has changed since I left NZ, the Electorate Chair is a former South African MP, but I am not sure that he and his fellow countrymen have “captured” anything. There was a good mix and variety of people on the committee when I was there. I’d be very surprised if there were any skullduggery of that nature afoot. At the end of the day, if you don’t like it, join up, participate and make sure your guy gets the nomination.

      Right on the money Blair.

      Perhaps some geriatric breeder of Herefords thought he had it sewn up but found immigrant churchmen have more commitment than fat old fifth generation Kiwis who think the world owes them a sinecure.
