Since outing her latest escape the news has spread far and wide about this little fraudster.
Since attempting to scam Kaimata Retreat, she has now featured in two industry websites warning people of her bogus make believe life. The first is from the blog of well known Travel and Ski writer Rache Oaks-Ashe, Pitchit2Me Blog.
Tourism operators beware, just because someone has a blog and a digital camera doesn’t mean they’re a journo as one New Zealand tourism operator found out last week.
A Kiwi tourism operator experienced a near right royal shafting from a pseudo journo last week on the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin on the South Island.
Then today she has had her blog post re-published on the Hotel and Accommodation Management website rumbling Pearl Going there as well.
A luxury New Zealand lodge operator on the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin was at the centre of a major scam from a pseudo journalist last week, raising alarms for hotels across the country.
Even better though, Rachel Oaks-Ashe is friends with James Wilkinson whose name Pearl dropped to get in at Kaimata.
What was even worse is that Sian Pearl apparently used a respected Australian travel journalist’s name and claimed to be Facebook friends with him when talking to Rachel. He is a friend of mine on Facebook and I checked, he has no Sian Pearl Going as a ‘friend’. Rachel has since alerted him to the misuse of his name.
Nice. The reach of HM is vast and should have nicely spiked Pearl’s alleged career in travel writing.
HM, now in its 13th year, is the leading accommodation trade magazine in the region and is distributed to most accommodation properties in Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Noumea, Vanuatu and Tahiti.
The magazine has a circulation of over 6,000 and is received by all tiers of hotel management (from front office staff to general managers, regional directors and CEOs) throughout the three countries. HM also has alliances with the HMAA (Hotel Motel Accommodation Association) in Australia, the New Zealand Hotel Council (NZHC) and the FHA (Fiji Hotels Association).
Pearl Going really needs to understand NFWAB. If she thinks 2009 was a year of cyber hell, then she hasn’t learned a single thing from that year. I’m still waiting for the coppers to visit me over her alleged complaint back then, proving once again she is full of shit.
