Why the Septic Tank can't win

Carmel “Septic Tank” Sepuloni won’t win against Paula Bennett in Waitakere. It isn’t because Paula is smarter, she isn’t. It isn’t because Paula is fatter, she isn’t. It isn’t because Paula is great campaigner, she isn’t. It is because the Septic Tank lacks humility.

Carmel Sepuloni's gracious apologyPoliticians need to be humble, they need to be patient and they need to displat contrition when caught out. The Septic Tank has displayed none of those attributes, and Labour sadly, to their electoral detriment don’t either. This alone is why they won’t be visiting the treasury benches anytime soon. They need to ask forgiveness. Amazingly the public are generous but only when politicians atone. Otherwise the electorate is merciless.

Proverbs 15: 32-33 is something all politicians would do well to heed.

32 If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself;
but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.

33 Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor.

    Carmel Sepuloni (a Samoan last name) was born a Samoan since birth, born to Samoan parents (part kiwi), and she lived a life as a Samoan all her life – until she decided to conveniently take advantage of the “there-hasnt-been-a-Tongan-in-Parliament” minority Labor ticket to catapult her up the Labor list ranking and into Parliament in the previous election.

    The irony is, she only started dressing up like a Tongan (traditional wear) when in Parliament, but prior to that she had nothing to do with Tongans whatsoever since she is Samoan.

    Im told the Tongan community is well aware of this “fake Tongan” Labor MP, masquerading as a Tongan when she really is a Samoan, and that the Tongan community havent a clue who she is (apart from being a Samoan).

    When asked about the details of her Tongan roots and ancestry – she apparently hasnt got a clue!

      Nice Proverbs there, and the amazing thing is that they still hold true. Solomon was truly wise.

    Actually, I think Paula *is* smarter.
    Anyway, you are absolutely right in that this Sepuloni has no humility whatsoever. If there is one personality trait that we do NOT need more of in Parliament, it is arrogance.

    It’s pretty funny how on Red Alert, the only person defending her is Colonial Viper who says this about himself: “I married into a very wealthy family so am doing quite OK without employment”

    It’s rather telling that when Phil did his latest reshuffle (of deckchairs), Ms Sepuloni ranked higher in the Labour coaucus than only two members, both of whom are retiring. She brings nothing whatsoever to the role of MP, and if ever proof was needed as to the lack of worth of time-servong list MP’s, Ms Sepuloni provides it.
