Pay for it yourself

As readers know I have no problem at all with having a Gay Mardi Gras. The problem is when ratepayers and tax payers are expected to pay for it.

New Zealand is in the midst of its greatest humanitarian disaster, when we are going to make tough choices about infrastructure projects that will slow economic development in the rest of New Zealand so we can rebuild Christchurch.

The Gays and Lesbians need to have a little more empathy and show a little more emotional intelligence before they start sticking their hands out asking for money that would be better spend on things that actually matter, like roads, sewerage and building state owned property like schools in Christchurch, things that have been destroyed.

Readers – don’t think of ringing the tip line to tell me Nikki Kaye is a lesbian like last time I posted on this. She is not a lesbian and even if she were I wouldn’t care or out her or anything silly like that.

    You know what? Regardless of funding, and where it comes from, i have never understood the desire from the Gay and Lesbian community, to dance around in next to nothing, and tell the world what they do in the privacy of their own bedroom.

    Jacqueline I think you should admit that many people care or more precisely are interested in what happens in the privacy of the G&L bedrooms. As any Working Girl knows there are lots of men who will happily pay ( & pay well) to watch two or more girls have sex. Similarly a trip to your local video shop will show many movies in both the un-restricted and restricted sections that use girl on girl love as a source of titillation and stimulation.

    You may not care but that is not the same as “NO ONE CARES”.

        Jacqui – I am sure you know as well as anyone that rather than being ” dirty old perverts ” the men enjoying the pleasures of a professional threesome are likely to be respectable family men paying for what their suburban housewives won’t give them.           How am i lying or being a hypocrite in declaring that men who pay for a profession threesome, or lurk in the dirty section of video shops are perverts? I don’t care if you are married, wear a suit, are a family man or whatever…if you do that then you are a pervert. That is my opinion. Where is the lie oh Mr Great Gibson?

          There are also men out there that pay large sums of money for women to take a dump on them…doesn’t mean i want to know about it.

    As far as funding the event is concerned I agree belts need to be tightened. Lets start with that celebration of the neanderthal – the Rugby World Cup. It was a waste of money before Christchurch – it is an immoral waste of money now. Can it.

    a couple of years ago the missus amd me took a weekend sojurn to Sydney to do some shopping and take in the sights which at the time happened to coincide with the Gay and Lesbian Mardi-Gras.
    The next day taking a a harbour boat cruise we jumped off at the fun park cause it appeared to be humming only to be told it was a private function for Gays and Leso’s only, Fuck off in other words. I really would have remonstrated but the two oversized Popeye’s in charge of public relations changed my cowardly mind.

    Never had a problem up until then, now i have a different mindset and let the bludgers pay their own way, keep their hands out of my pocket and off my cock. They can jerk off their own kind.

    The taxpayers have paid for the Devonport Wine and Food festival. And thats dripping with corporate sponsorship and the punters have paid entry.
    Most big stadium events have some sort of Council sponsorship , and something like Welligntons 7s has mega bucks from the council to just pay ‘hosting’ rights.
    The Mardi Gras is really open for everyone to turn up for free and watch.

    Why dont you pick on the events that make big money AND want something from the rate payers.
    The last C&R Auckland City council used to shovel millions for failed theater shows at ‘The Edge’ where they played promoter and lost the bet.
    Its not like you whale to be so blase about millions for the arty crowd and yet worry about $150K for a free public event.

    Bacardi owns 42 Below and they sell a shit load of product to cockboys and lovers of all things anal (never been able to understand why, when there is a perfectly good front door, you would want to use the back door, but there ya go) let them sponsor a street party to celebrate the unorthodox stretching of the beef curtains.
