Labour’s ICT policy leaked

How appropriate that Labour’s ICT policy has found its way into my hands ahead of the official launch tomorrow.

Why wait? With the wonders of modern technology you can read it here first.

Looks like Labour still has ongoing leaks in their IT systems.

Labour’s ICT Policy Leaked

Had a quick skim through it.  Mostly looks like “motherhood and apple pie” stuff.  One good part is the proposal to remove disconnection for supposed copyright breaches.

    A government-run ‘app store’?!

There’s a plan for an app store for the govt. – have a look at the All of Govt ICT Roadmap http://ict.govt.nz/

How dull. Too long, didn’t read.
The fact it has been leaked early says perhaps Labour shouldn’t be taken seriously on matters IT.

To be honest CK, I don’t mind if the political parties are incompetent IT-wise as long as they listen to those that are.  Agreed they need to summarise the document for those that won’t take the time to read it.

There’s actually a couple of policies in here that seem reasonable in addition to some that seem completely stupid (app store for government?)

Unfortunately both Nats + Labour seem to ignore the advice of those that actually do know what they’re doing (copyright bill idiocy, ACTA enforcement etc.)

Ummm… and this is supposed to help them get back into Govt? How???
