I have just had the sad news that a great New Zealander, Roger Kerr has passed away after a long battle with cancer.
My thoughts are with Catherine and his family right now. I will update this post with media reports as they come to hand.
Whale if this report is correct, then New Zealand has lost, as you say, one of our greats. A giant.
Sadly it is correct. Roger Kerr was a true Kiwi, a gentleman and a great thinker. We have lost a great Kauri today.
Terribly sad, he wasa real gentlemen and a true intellectual. Even if you didn’t like free-market theory, you could not hate against the intelligent and thoughtful advocacy he made.
The sad loss of a brave and selfless soul. A man who was not afraid to say it as it was.
The business community & thinking NZr’s will mourn his death.
Such a horrible day for the family :(. Had the privilege of meeting Roger a few years ago and always enjoyed his blog posts and writings. RIP Roger
Tough old bugger he was working up to recently
A huge loss to NZ. One of the few willing to debate and defend from a position of research and understanding. If only those who opposed him understood how much he cared. I met him but a few times, but his desire to help NZ was undeniable. RIP Roger, I will miss your intellect, NZ will miss your honesty.
Terrible loss. I didn’t always agree with him but he made a huge contribution to business. My thoughts are with his family, RIP Roger.
