Bitter Much?

Annette King is a little bitter that her brilliance has not been recognised:

She is proud of her time as Phil Goff’s deputy, in particular of Labour’s bold social policies concerning children, but there is a hint of bitterness.

“It’s interesting that, when I read the history of all the people who are responsible for all of our party, that somehow I never get mentioned.

“I actually chaired it all, pushed most of it through, but never mind, it’s always men that get the greater accolades here.”

Oh come on now Aunty Annie, that’s no way to talk about Helen.

Annette King needs to understand the message from the election and her own party and just get a new job, if that is feasable.

I remember listening to her and Steve Joyce on Hoskings show driving to work last year.  I thought Joyce slaughtered her every day on every issue.  She had that classic patronising labour arrogance in spades – Horrible.

Good to see Joyce up the ladder – a results man, I hope he goes hard !!

  • Peter Wilson

Why does a failed politician think she would be any better going for mayor?

    • Boss Hogg

John Banks?  and round we go again…………I have voted ACT every election except the one just gone.

      • Peter Wilson

It’s a bit different with Banks. It’s generally accepted he’s been successful at national AND local politics. Whereas King, alas, has been an abject failure.

      • kehua

Pete Wilson     How can  you even contemplate calling the Idiot Banks succesful at National/Local level, the fool in his last job ran up a humungus debt and was well and truly thrown out in favour of a loony leftwing fuckwit. and the times have changed a whole bunch since he last walked out of Parliament. The man is a legend in his own mind. As the only rep from a banana Party he is truly a waste of space.

      • Boss Hogg

Peter, I am leaning on the Kehua side here.  I don’t recall much about Banks in national politics.  I do remember when he booted Christine Fletcher and came in with lots of bold talk – but not so much walk.

I hope that he can live up to th ereputation that some people hav efor him……..

      • diabolos

Agree with Kehua – Banks was not a success at any level.  He also has the potential to do an enormous amount of damage before he gets censured or found out.  Men with a lot of money can be very dangerous.  They often fail to recognise they may have been in the right place at the right time – and attribute their success solely to their own brilliance and infallible thought processes.

In other words – they see themselves as infallible and always right.  A little bit like the guy sitting in the Vatican.

Banks was a highly regarded Minister of Police.

A self made millionaire with a very average upbringing, who rose to be a cabinet minister, and Mayor of NZ’s largest city. A reasonably successful individual I would have thought. Of course he’s going to get voted out sometime, that will even happen to your precious National govt.

      • Boss Hogg

Peter – fair comments on Banks.  The only reason that the National Gov could be descibed as “Precious” is on the basis that they less the Fabian Socialists than Labour.

Diabolos is into secret societies and “underground streams” and the like – I am much more concerned about the Fabian style approach and this governemt is talking about taking some actions that these weirdos really hate.

Watch the nasty left get in a lather about some power companies enjoying the benefit of becoming PLC’s.  Going to enjoy that !!

      • diabolos

Naughty boss – fancy suggesting such things about me.  Secret Societies – you can talk boss – voting act – that has to qualify for masonic lodge membership (keep the goatshit off the carpet brethren).

Banks was popular with the cops – he had been one and he was one of the boys.  That didnt and doesnt make him a well regarded minister of police.  A lot of naughty business went on while he was their minister.

        Very naughty boss.

  • kaykaybee

Dear oh dear Annette. I’ll always remember you for the HBDHB contract debacle and cover up. I’ll never forget you, your husband or Mr Hausmann for that matter.

  • Chris

Annette King tries very hard to come across as friendly and astute, but she’s incredibly conniving and a little bit thick – which can be a dangerous combination.  The next queen of the duplicitous Labour needs to eject is Ruth Dyson, another of King’s ilk.

  • C4F

look, Annette King, it all comes down the full moon and wierd parties with Darren Hughes n naked boys doesn’t it?

    • Boss Hogg

And wasn’t it her house ???

      • EX Navy Greg

Yup , a frontbum ginga trying to play a quick game of “Mr wobbly hides his helmet” in Annette’s digs.
Still waiting for the explanation there.

    • diabolos

With the new lineup – itll be no problem giving up your seat in the house anymore.

  • Thorn

Annette King - promoter and product of the Labour aversion to personal accountability – its always someone else’s fault I did not get what I deserved. Well, fatty, you actually did get exactly what you deserved – rejection by colleagues as empty as you.

  • Chris

Poor Ann, all I can say is  ”Diduums”

  • Troy

oh well, sour grapes… King has only been able to master the paste on grin she regularly uses when in front of the camera, wonder how the grin is now tho, she’ll be Left Right Out by Shearer I suspect.
