Cunliffe’s White-Anting Begins

One of Labour’s big fears is that the defeated David will fester in his seat and spend his days productively white-anting David Shearer.

That’s why Shearer tried to buy-off Cunliffe with a spot at #5 on the front bench (behind Comrade Ardern).

However, the white anting has already begun.

At his press conference, Shearer tried to pretend that David Cunliffe jumped at the job he was offered.

But within hours, Cunliffe publicly contradicted his new leader – clearly indicating the first offer he got wasn’t good enough.  I wonder what spot he was originally offered…

    I wonder if Shearer is grown up enough and understanding enough of the dynamics when Cunners decides it’s the right time to stick the knife in right up Shearer’s jacksy.

    The situation I would suggest is just a tad fragile.

    Shearer will be chewed up and spat out into a gutter somewhere. He is kidding himself if he thinks he will be leading labour to an election in 2014. He will have gone off to a pansy job somewhere in the UN by the end of 2012.

      There’s that old guard element too. I can’t believe that they won’t be fomenting trouble and intrigue. They’ve had the trappings of power for too long and they know every dirty trick in the book.

    Isn’t there some sort of saying about “never trust a man who’s eyes are too close together” (?) I would definitely say in this case, to never trust this man who’s eyes are permanently screwed shut. The whole “lulz cats for Cunliffe” barely ‘scratched’ the surface.
