Hates Jews and now Deaf people

Kevin Campbell is a moron, he comments here occasionally.

His main claim to fame is to throw his toys from the cot every time people actually cotton on to his moronic behaviour and rank him lower than number one on the list of whatever party he has joined lately.

He is also the guy who called John Key “John the Jew”. He was subsequently thrown out of the ACT party.

He has however cuddled up to Colin Craig and sycophantically praises   Craig and the Conservatives say and do. He was their candidate in Hunua where he came 5th, some 21,190 votes behind Paul Hutchison. He was also ranked number 10 on their list.

Not content with insulting Jews and John Key he is now insulting deaf people:

Kevin Campbell is the campaign manager for the Conservative Party. Prior to the election he was very happy in using Facebook to promote the party and most comments were of a political nature. But after the election he appears to have closed ranks after something he posted that many found offensive. Incidentally I was told by a Conservative Party candidate that they were not to use social media during the campaign.

Campbell questioned whether new Green MP Mojo Mathers, who is the world’s fifth profoundly deaf MP, should even be an MP as she didn’t have all her “faculties” – and only people who have all their faculties should be MPs. In other words, because she was deaf, she was unsuitable as an MP. Mathers became an MP after special votes were counted.

Kevin Campbell is an intolerant bigot. I wonder what Colin Craig has got to say about his 10th ranked candidate and campaign manager.

Not a good look for the Conservatives who already have the reputation of being intolerant religious nutters.

He looks a tad like a red-neck.  His comments say more about him than those he targets.

  • http://truebluenz.com/ Redbaiter

I’d hold off on my judgment on this until I heard what was really said.

A report from one blog is not much to go on.

He may have been questioning by what means a deaf person could deal with the rough and tumble of the debating chamber.

Lip reading demands that you look at the person speaking. When there are many speaking at once, or from behind you, how does this work?

    • max_power

      how does this work?

Mojo wears a specially-made arrangement of mirrors strapped to her shoulders which allows her to simultaneously see every single set of lips in the entire house, like the eyes of a fly.

      • http://truebluenz.com/ Redbaiter

Sounds like something that might endanger the environment.

Redbaiter.  I saw the comment. I wrote about it.  He was not questioning  rough and tumbleness, but  her lack of “faculties”.

I too saw his Facebook post Redbaiter, and he left no room for misinterpretation. His comment is just as Big News reported it. I have little time for the Greens, but this was just a gratuitous slur.

Ive got no problem with a deaf MP, If thats what her electorate want.

Ive also got no problem with someone suggesting there may be limitations..

We do go to great lengths in this country to make life far for everyone.

  • Guest

Well done Kevin. You’ve succeeded in making a right winger like myself feel sympathetic for a Green MP. You’ve succeeded in giving her the air time she otherwise wouldn’t have deserved. FAIL.

  • Gazzaw

I don’t really want to see he in the House but that is because she’s Green not because she is deaf. I saw her on TV last night and she has achieved a lot in her life and is confident that her deafness will not impede her contributions. So good on her and if she can push through any reforms that will assist people with hearing difficulties then good on her.

I wouldn’t mind betting that her contributions to the parliament are a damned sight more meaningful than those tossers from NZFP.

    • max_power

      Or from Hone.

  • Alex (not the Leftist twat)

This is what fucks me off totally.  They misappropriate the “conservative” label, and taint it with such unbelievably stupid, bad mannered, intolerant reactionary crap.  As a Tory, I’m totally supportive of disabled people being fully fledged and functioning members of society, including MPs.  It is unbelievable that we have a person who has struggled all her life, for no fault of her own, and has made something of her life.  Yes her political views I don’t support; but her aspirations and courage I do support.  I’d far rather spend money ensuring she can function in her position, than fund the reproductive and other life style choices of others.

Chances are Colin Craig thinks her deafness is due to sin on the part of her ancestors.

  • http://truebluenz.com/ Redbaiter

Why don’t you let Colin Craig speak for himself?

You clearly wouldn’t have a clue what he might think.

As for what was said, where is a copy of the actual comments? Let’s see what was really said. Where’s the harm in that?

Not a good look for the Conservatives who already have the reputation of being intolerant religious nutters.

Well, National party zealots are trying to smear them as such, but obviously 55000 NZ voters think otherwise, and rate them higher than ACT or the Maori party, that Key seeks an alliance with.

Colin has a nice case before the employment court where it is alleged he told someone that shortness was the result of the sins of his ancestors

It’s sad you want to talk about us, it’s sad you want to decide for us, it’s sad you call us citizens and expect us to abide to your laws, it’s sad that some people like Kevin has to go out to degrade a person who has tried so hard to raise these issues. It’s sad you tell us to get work but a majority of people in NZ despite us through making us unemployed. It’s sad you right wingers want to keep punishing us. Why WHY WHY? I never asked to go Deaf in the first place… I have to live with it. I have to put up with the continued discrimination on a daily basis, I have to struggle to make means meet cos right whiners and ignorance people put us on benefits in the first place and now they want to kick us off the benefits… what are we to you? Political play-toys? Grow up New Zealand… grow up…

    Kim Robinson

    • Alex (not the Leftist twat)

Kim,Campbell is NOT “right wing” — he is just ignorant and a bigot.  People who are “right wing” believe in individual empowerment and responsibility; that means helping disabled people with tangible assistance so they can achieve their full potential as citizens.  Left and right will disagree as to how this assistance should be delivered, but they are united on the same goal.  But as I say Campbell is an abomination to this centre-right supporter.

    • max_power

Er Kim, who precisely is punishing anyone? Who is dishing out “continued discrimination on a daily basis?”

More importantly how are they actually doing this and why isn’t the media revealing such a national outrage vigorously and thoroughly? Is the media involved as well, is what I’m asking.

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz Whaleoil

Kim, one of my best mates growing up was profoundly deaf…every summer though he was out there surfing better, sailing better, cycling better, motocross riding better than all of us…and boy could he party.

We all learned a form of sign…it was hilarious when there were about 20 of us at a bbq and other turned up.

Do not label me as one with Kevin Campbell, the man is a numpty and a tool. It has nothing to do with right wing it has everything to do with his own inadequacies and personal hang ups.

You too though seem to have fallen for bigotry, that of the left wing that has tricked you into believing they care. I should share with you some of the emails those “caring left” sent to me whenever I blogged about my depression.

I am certain that Mojo Mathers will make a greater contribution to parliament in her time there than someone like Winston Peters has in a lifetime of attending parliament, purely because she has some to prove and all power to her.

      • Pharmachick

        Well said, Sir.

      • Kim robinson

I have no love left for the Left either… I’m just so sick of all these barriers being put in place all the time. I’m just so sick of presumptions people make about those with disabilities. Every Election – voting is like a Lucky-Dip for many people who depend on teletext subtitles/interpreters. Maybe I did jump the gun over the right wing thing.. but again… many of my friends just had enough of it. We live in a world of limited access to information/communication over what goes around us. I do hope Mojo hammers that message home in time in Parliament.

I may be at rock bottom with all this stuff that’s happened… it can’t just go on like this. I would very much appreciate it if everyone can assist us in getting back up and making a contribution to society through education, health and employment. Even Mojo speaks of the Human Right Commissions findings of discrimination among people with disabilities being high in NZ. http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/6122493/Special-votes-win-deaf-MP-a-seat

To be honest – being on the benefit sucks for me and a large number of my Deaf friends. It even sucks to continue to be told we shouldn’t be driving cars by some medical professionals, we shouldn’t be doing this and that. Of course we want change to happen, of course we want to get off the benefit and make a career in our chosen fields.

I have up-most respect for you Cameron – you challenge things and I would love it if you could take up our cause to make a difference. An economical difference that could see a lot of cost-savings that’s currently being wasted on us sitting on the benefit for too long.

        Kim

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz Whaleoil

Kim, you should have seen my friend Grady….he had his drivers licence before all of us, he had the coolest ute, best motorbikes…an awesome full of life guy….we would all be out surfing or wave skiing and he would be the last to leave the water in even the biggest surf…we all would paddle over to tell him we were piking out and going in, not him, he never gave up.

When I was in the depths of my depression I thought that it would never end. It hurt and it still does if I let it.

I decided that I wasn’t going to let the detractors say i couldn’t do what I wanted to do.

When someone says “you can’t do that” what they are really saying is that “they can’t”.

Don’t let a bunch of “can’ts” rule your life. Take it back and show them.

  • Mooloo

What a turd. Good luck to the Conservatives if this is the sort of dross they are attracting.
Better luck to the deaf Lady from the mung beans.

  • Gazzaw

Kim that was a great post. You guys need some really strong advocacy to raise the profile of your cause. Maybe Mojo Mathers is that advocate. More importantly she should be a beacon for all deaf people showing what can be achieved. What did I think of her when she appeared briefly and spoke on TV One news? I saw an eloquent woman, a mother of three & an achiever who had fought hard to get into parliament. I don’t know any more about her but I do know that she has fought hard to get where she is and will do a far better job than many other MPs.

You need to lobby her hard to get the ball rolling on your behalf.

  • Ross Calverley

Cameron, get your facts right. He was not the campaign manager.

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz Whaleoil

Ross keep up this story is 12 days old. He is stil an ass-hat, anti-semitic tosser.
