A few years ago some idiot in Sydney parked his Porche in a construction site unloading bay. Not a problem – a forklift driver picked it up with his forklift to move it. Unfortunately it dropped off the prongs. The owner was not amused. I do not know what the final outcome was.

I suppose that is someone that was either:
-Late for the opera
-Impressing his girlfriend
-Driving someone else’s car
-David Shearer, trying to squeeze a space between the Greens and NZFirst.

The modernish miracle of plastic bumpers…

I actually have no issue with this parking!! in fact I encourage anyone also in this situation to repeat this European parking style. No damage no foul. Many a times I have been tempted to do the same – and this video may have given me the conviction to follow that urge.
On the other hand I do take issue, and we see this a lot with parking in Auckland where its at a premium, with the cars parked either side (although to be fair not sure which one is potentially at fault or if its on further along the road).
Its likely that one of them has left a similar (if smaller) gap on the other side due to their inability to parallel park and have left themselves ‘enough’ room to get out (And pitch a tent).

That’s an exceptional piece of parking skill in my view. Better than some mofo did to my car last weekend by reversing into it so hard i ended up with a bonnet 8 inches shorter, only but with vertical crease so big i could reach in and change the spark plugs without lifting it. Needless to say, no note left.
I learnt parking for my driving test, do they still do that?

That’s a very common method in France. Every car has scraped bumpers.
