Whaleoil Awards – Worst SMOG

The nominations are in for the inaugural Trevor Mallard Award for Social Media Own Goals.

They are:

Darien Fenton: for her attacks on Sir Peter Leitch, the Mad Butcher for daring to say that John Key is a good bloke.

Clare Curran: for her born to rule attitude in declaring that the Greens were stealing Labour’s rightful votes.

Trevor Mallard: for all round social media ineptness and the genius who decided the Labour party would campaign using social media.

The Labour party: Where to start…lack of discipline allowing fool MPs to constantly place silly Facebook posts, Tweets and blog posts all over the internet, for letting Trevor Mallard run Red Alert, for their wide open website and lack of security over email addresses, supporter databases, donation details, credit card transaction details, and illegal email harvesting.

What about an `all of the above’ category?

  • Symgardiner

Darien is going to romp home.

  • Gravedodger

Agreed, voted for Fenton as hers was in the Monumental division, the others are just business as usual Labour Clusterfuck second division stuff.

    • James Stephenson

Yeah, but Curran is supposed to the the social media expert, which is why I nominated her yesterday. Fenton’s just a example of exactly how dangerous a little knowledge can be.

  • Mark

It was so hard to choose. But I guess in the end I didn’t care about Curran’s attitude, seemed typical for a leftie. But Darien Fenton, that still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. I was and am still disgusted.

  • Kthxbai

It’s got to be Clare Curran.  Her post was the one that revealed most clearly the ideology that Labour rightfully owns New Zealand and its people, and knows better than they do.

  • Ploughman

It has to be Labour for hosting such twits and permitting such twitiness.

  • Mark

As an aside Labours worst decision so far has to be making Fenton a whip, so we have to see her slimey face every time Shearer or Robertson speaks.

I just cannot make up my mind. Perhaps I will do one vote at home, another on my mobile and another two at internet cafes.

Fenton was personal and unjustified. Win (or fail, however you look at it)

  • Gazzaw

I am suprised that Cunners’ Avondale effort did not get a mention. How many votes did that effort cost Labour. In full agreement with Fenton getting top honours though.

Probably not “social media” otherwise it would have been right up there.
