Some predictions for 2012

Since everyone does it and most are weak I’ll do some.

  1. Aaron Gilmore will return to parliament on the list.
  2. Katrina Shanks to not realise she should be doing a deal to exit parliament gracefully
  3. A 2008 intake MP will become a minister
  4. Another Labour MP will come out of the closet (but only because it was a bit crowded in there)
  5. The first SOE IPO will be massively over-subscribed netting the government millions extra than planned.
  6. There will be at least one by-election in a Labour held seat
  7. Andrew Williams will be caught pissed in Courtney Place ($500 bounty for video/photos sent to the tipline of him doing something disgraceful)
  8. Another Labour MP will be caught in a sex scandal
  9. A senior Nat MP not currently in speaker roles will be made Speaker when Lockwood Smith takes up his post in London.
  10. Trevor Mallard and Winston Peters will both be ejected from the house by the Speaker.
  11. David Shearer won’t make a difference to Labour’s poll ratings.
  12. Trevor Mallard will have to delete at least one Red Alert post on orders from Shearer’s office but I will get a screenshot anyway.
  13. Lindsay Tisch to do a cameo appearance in The Hobbit but no one will notice.
  14. Sandra Goudie will consider standing for Mayor of TCDC.
  15. Scott Simpson will realise he lives in Coromandel (and is just a backbench MP with no friends)
  16. Trevor Mallard to fall off his bike again and require a walker after becoming a part-time MP again as he returns to the pro-cycling circuit.
  17. Green MP Holly Walker will get into trouble for random use of non-recyclable coffee cups.
  18. ACT MP John Banks will survive a coup from his own caucus.
  19. Labour will continue to provide social media entertainment via Twitter, Facebook and Red Alert.
  20. I’ll still be the top blogger in NZ at the end of 2012.

Nice list, but I think we should be taking bets on which Labour MP comes out of the closet.

The MSM will turn viral against Key’s Government, as they lost the election. They will do it by using the Greens as their speaking point, along with Winston Who. They will go cool on Labour as they are ineffectual.

I’ve got my money on Phil Twyford, I think there’s a bit of a pattern emerging in the Te Atatu seat.

Why Aaron Gilmore return to parliament on list seat? – nice enough chap but way out of his depth in Christchurch East, in my opinion – maybe someone can enlighten me?.
