And the pinkos thought car crushing was extreme

Last week the first car was crushed under the car crushing legislation.

Predictably the left wing are all wailing and gnashing their teeth in anguish over the “waste” and the “civil rights” of the poor kid who had his car crushed. While they do that most sensible Kiwis were quietly saying “Good job”. The car crushing¬†legislation¬†and the response by the left wing to it show just how out of touch labour and others still are with the ordinary working man.

Of course their world view is so cosseted that they have no idea how other countries deal with similar crimes. Take Saudi Arabia, they really know how to slow down the boy racer problem over there:

A Saudi court sentenced a middle-aged joy-rider to death by beheading for accidentally killing two people while performing a car stunt near the capital Riyadh, the Saudi newspaper Al Watan has reported.

A pastime known as “drifting,” in which drivers make their cars spin and skid at high speed, is popular among Saudi men with few options for entertainment in a conservative kingdom where cinemas do not exist and mixing between unrelated men and women is forbidden.

Al Watan reported that the defendant, which it said identified himself as “Mutannish” – “he who ignores” in Arabic, struck and killed two men while performing the thrill-seeking stunt and fled the scene before being arrested.

“The court of Onaiza handed down a sentence to kill the drifter ‘mutannish’ by beheading as punishment for his heinous deed and to deter others who tamper with the nation’s security,” the report stated.

Al Watan did not say when the sentence would be carried out. A Justice Ministry spokesman could not be reached for comment.

Saudi authorities have treated deaths resulting from acts of “drifting” as criminally negligent homicides.

In 2005, a Saudi naval officer found guilty of killing three minors in a stunt-driving accident was handed a death sentence that was subsequently reduced to 3000 lashes and 20 years in prison, according to local media.

The aquare where the executions are carried out is known as Chop Square.  They are carried out after Friday Prayers and they use the Arabian Sword as on the Saudi Flag.

In 1968 I joined a ship in Jeddah and the agent said leave your bags with the shop keeper.  I queried if this was OK and he said if anything is stolen his hand will be cut off!!!

Give them an option then, crush the car or accelerator foot chopped off, better yet do both.

    Seems like a suitable punishment.
We are far too soft here, someone gets drunk or drugged, drives down the road and someone, usually someone else dies. We slap them on the hand with 12 months home detention.
Some thieving piece of shit, steals a car or commits a crime and then refuses to stop for police the resulting high speed chase results in death.
In both cases for some mysterious reason it is not the offenders fault, because they did not mean for somebody to die.
Exactly how does that logic work? In my mind it was a possibility that they were aware of, or should have been aware of, and are completely liable, no one else. It should be treated for what it is Murder. With a minimum non negotiable sentence, beheading would be good.

I think the big thing in this story is it is treated the way it should be.

The person knowingly carried out an act that resulted in the death of two people. No consideration of what the person was doing when this happened.

Our problem is dividing up penalties depending on in what area of societal behaviour they occurred, not on what the result of the action was.
