National Selection FAQ, Ctd

Will National push me up the list if I keep taking one for the team in a red seat?

No. Unlike Labour there is no reward for tenure in National. Those wanting specific examples should look at Ravi Musuku, Mita Harris, Malcolm Plimmer and Conway Powell’s rankings in 2005 and 2008.

Ravi Musuku    2005 48  2008 65

Mita Harris    2005 53   2008  63

Malcolm Plimmer  2005 60  2008 62

Conway Powell  2005  55  2008  59

Ravi didn’t just get shafted he got sodomised repeatedly with some sort of industrial sodomiser.

Finding this series of posts interesting. Although would we want a reward for tenure? I mean to say, as long as they aren’t being ignored if they’re talented – they shouldn’t be rewarded just for sticking around. Malcolm Plimmer did not achieve anything stellar in Palmerston North (a tie on the party vote in 2008), and then did not stand in 2011.

You shouldn’t expect to be given a seat in parliament unless you deserve it more than anyone else, and I don’t think you should be able to buy that favour simply by standing in safe Labour electorates. If you’re able to beat the swing and get a better-than-expected result, that would be a reason to get looked at, but as far as I can see, none of those candidates did.

The point is that the hierarchy intimate that they will look after you…if you take one for the team…they never do…and so if you really want to be an MP you would be mad to take one for the team because the team sure as hell won’t take one for you.

Hope Ravi did not eat curry prior to being sodomised – would have been a real shitty mess

  • Sir Cullen’s Sidekick

Ravi Musuku would have definitely won against Sheep Shearer if he had given an opportunity instead of Melissa Lee in the by election……
