O’Sullivan on the “threat”

ŠĒ• NZ Herald

In Fran O’Sullivan’s lengthy article regarding¬†the¬†Bronwyn Pullar fiasco she uses Michelle Boag’s own emails to question why it is that TV3 in particular and the Dominion Post continue to buy Pullar’s and Boag’s spin:

ACC bosses will be wishing that they had just written Pullar a hefty cheque years ago in full and final settlement of her claim, and got her off their books for good.

But Boag’s intervention makes that impossible.

As John Key said, it is impossible to know whether Pullar’s tape was in full or edited. What we do know from Boag herself is this.

These extracts from her own email to Collins earlier this year still warrant a full inquiry: “Addressing the issue of the major privacy breach – I am sending you under separate cover an email from Bronwyn enclosing the details of the meeting held in December, at which I was present, where, after years of extensive mishandling of Bronwyn’s claim and after she had approached a board member, senior management (Phil Murch and Hans Verbene) met with us to attempt to come to a reasonable settlement on the way forward.

The documents in the email I am forwarding to you represent the objectives Bronwyn had for the meeting, which included recognition that she was unable to work a full time week, but allowed her some space (two years) to get on with trying to re-establish her consultancy business. Bronwyn also asked for the privacy breach to be investigated.

“At that meeting in December Bronwyn advised the ACC managers that a serious breach of privacy had occurred. As she says in her email which follows, it was verbally agreed in that meeting that on agreement on the way forward, Bronwyn would return that document. We walked away from that meeting thinking we had an agreement which Mr Murch would put in writing. When it was received eight days later, it did not reflect our discussions, including the fact that it only allowed her one year to re-establish her business rather than two years, which she did not regard as sufficient.

“You will see in the correspondence attached to the email I am forwarding that while Mr Murch asked for the return of the data, he did not acknowledge that this would be contingent on reaching an agreement acceptable to both parties, which was our understanding.”

Pity TV3 did not focus on Boag’s written account, which would have added weight to the corporation’s own allegations.

Was the tape doctored or not ?
    Can somebody please tell me.
Typical TV3 not to tell the whole story.

Have a listen on their website, the interviewer tells viewers she had editted it to broadcast.

The ACC have been caught out lying to the public through TV news, to the Police reporting the claimed threat and to the Minister through their reports.
The tape is evidence of their attempting to change the facts of a meeting.
How many others have been similarity treated but didn’t have the acumen or the finances to record their meetings..
TV3 is very good at creating news and -then- reporting it

I think you will find ‘threat’ has a very specific meaning when ¬†applied to criminal law.
Going to the media isnt one of them.

Dont make me laugh with this … I feel threatened by these two bossy women… cry me ¬†a river.

Thats why the police tossed it back. Just another case of crushed tutus at ACC

The choice about whether you support Judith Collins or Bill English is about on par of a choice between Rupert Murdoch and Max Mosley, there all so politically and sexually unattractive you want to vomit.¬†On the ACC¬†issue im more on Collins side.¬†Judith’s backside is as broad as Sue Bradford, and I don’t go¬† for police supporters or police daughters, like Jacinda, ( in terms of policewoman their always going to be stauch and follow the party lines of the males in the force, but there really there for the better pay than school teachers and are almost¬†always a case of police selectors choosing, the sort of hot looking broads the Navy or AirForce would choose as women officers or promotable ratings, but are way out of the class of most male police,¬†even more so¬†as Collins and Lowell Goddard have hit them¬† with the ruler and said the top dog 50 year old police, can’t have sex with the hot recruits. I always thought Rickard and detectives should be allowed to have sex with them on the bonnet during tea breaks, not being PC.)
¬† Whatever the Greens imagine, ACC is a totally unaffordable rort. Pullen has already got more than a million out of them and presumably had insurance and some private means. She’s still reasonably presentable and apparently interesting to Nick Smith, a hypocritical moral conservative and cultivater of low demography provincial vote. I find Michelle Boag’s support of Pullen rather unusual. To me the Nick Smith-Bill English faction isn’t part of the Nat Party, their not market or social liberals, Bill¬† who spoke yesterday in partiament defending his gutless budget in a pink poka dot tie , is a pinko- a fairly gutltess wet and social conservative catholic.
A decent Nat party would have expelled English and Smith long ago, while lukewarm about Brash myself, the English leaking of the emails to Hager was treason-thru third parties- review Hagars interview on TV7 with F.MacDonald broadcast last few day for a good indi

WTF was that!¬† … my head hurts, and 5 minutes of my life gone forever.

Wow, some great information in there, and some important points touched on.
What is the rest of it?
Glad you mentioned about toothy Jacinda being a policeman’s daughter. This makes it clear to me how she managed to be appointed as a Senior Adviser to a Senior Adviser on Police, to Tony Blair, when she was merely a foreigner newly arrived in the UK and when straight out of Uni more or less. And her degree had no relevance to Police work.

Pullar’s brain farts may be the result of her head injury. What is Boags excuse?

  • Mediaan

Haven’t yet read Fran O’Sullivan’s piece, but myself am wondering whether Pullar used some of her publicly-acknowledged private payout of three million from an insurance company, on the same accident, to employ Michelle Boag as a Public Relations woman. Whether or not they were actually friends would not matter. Boag is known to be a PR person. Surely this is work?

If so the greedy little toad Pullar is doing very well out of her employed PR contractor.

Sounds like blackmail to me, but I don’t have expertise in this area like the police do.
