The truth about unions

ᔥ The Telegraph

The best leftie in britain, Dan Hodges, points out that unions hate Tories.

Her challenger is Len McCluskey, the leader of the “super-union” Unite. His vision of modern trade unionism is crystal clear. He wants to use it as a giant club to hammer David Cameron and Nick Clegg into the ground.

Why any Tory ever pretends the unions are anything but the enemy is beyond me.

What formal international links are there between the various Unite chapters? Anyone know? It would be interesting to be aware of what levels of cooperation exist between the likes of McCarten & Minto and overseas branches.

    • Mike Hunt

We have known this for years…..labour is just the political wing of the union movement. Was in the UK during the miners strike…they openly admitted that it was about bringing down the Thatcher govt…..ie nothing to do with mining!! Here, reading their web site before the election, the wharfies STATED that their aim was to bring down the Key govt. should labour lose the election!

Agree John – for goodness sake not everyone out here is as thick as we labelled.
